This is something that has frustrated me about this series for sometime, the only information that we are ever given are single words, phrases, graphic symbols, or glimpses of documents. "traite negative" "ribozymes" "epogen", and going back further "Enotian", "longitute" "Deacons", pink herrings, nothing is ever explained in any depth at all, everything is always left up to speculation.

I will be amazed if we ever get an complete explanation for anything.

I hope we will, eventually, since I'd be ticked off if ribozymes are cumulatively another red herring Evil or Very Mad . I'm thinking that Bree's dad was giving her something that inhibited ribozyme replication, or something to that effect, as has already been mentioned or alluded to (what with the iron pills working to increase ribozymes' effectiveness despite the decrease in supply). Does anyone know of any real-life substance that would do this?
