The direction says to TOTAL every 2, not count every instance of a 2. See the difference? |

Different letter. We got the 3 one. It says 3 twice in the song. |

to TOTAL is to ADD. to count is to keep track of each mention of something. it just seems like these instructions are specific, or else it won't work. |

covedweller, if you look at the following:
Quote: | Y. Subtract I from H, then divide the remainder by J. |
you'll notice that this is (H-I)/J
We know for sure that J is 6. We also know for sure that I is 3. It would make complete sense for H to be 21 in this case, because then you end up with 18/6 = 3. If H were 42, that would give you 39/6 = 6.5. That just wouldn't make any sense.
Plus, if you look at the ultimate solution:
Quote: | Lay it down "UVZXY"
Then flip it (or reverse it). |
That means the first numbers of it are Y, X, and possibly Z. All reversed. If we assume I = 21, that gives us Y=3, X=1. This would then give us the first two digits of the final solution as "31" which is identical to the first two digits of the phone number we dialed earlier today. |

If you do this mathematically then you would use...... pemdas
which would mean you would divide before subtract.....
If we were doing by his words alone then ummm....[/i] _________________ Official Guard dog of the LG Defense Force
