I would disagree completely that this story deals with the Order and not with OpA. |
I know, you always disagree with me.
edit: still not convinced, btw.

Well, i think its safe to say i've never known this much about the greek alphabet before.
OK, i just want to get this straight. we have Theta/Mu for sure. and, we also have Theta/?Nu?, Tau/?Phi?, and Lambda/Sigma.
we don't have any reason to believe Lambda/Sigma changed right? _________________ Catching up is far too hard; even when I was there in the beginning. |

So far, no, we don't. |

If only because it doesn't LOOK like a Lambda, while looking almost identical to the Phoenician Gemil. _________________ Hey! That was my lucky assassin hat! |

Umm I thought the uppercase fit better than the lowercase (η), because in lowercase the right leg is longer... but the uppercase works because the top half is covered by theta, just like in the 3-legged watcher symbol you don't see the top bar connecting the three legs from the original "mu".
Θ Θ
Μ Η
Yea well they did change that mu quite a bit, but that's the one she did for us so... anyway, I think Η fits much better than Ν or any other. |

I don't know. I think we're getting the overanalyzing fever again. We should keep it simple and stick to the greek alphabet imho.

Agreed. And H (Eta) is "the fence".

Funny: Tau represents "the mark" and Qoph is "the Monkey". Purple monkey is Opaphid! |

What I find really annoying in this puzzle is that there is so many different websites with different interpretations of the greek letters/egyptian/blahblahblah, that I we don't find the exact book or exact website used by the Creators, we'll never get the ligatures right. That really sucks! |

sorry but this is another LONG summary post [filled with possible ideas from various peeps] - we will figure this out because now we know there really is something for us to get from this:
The two "good" ones: [good in the sense that we think we got the greek letters right]
Bottom Left: [the one Tachyon did for us]
Theta & Mu
Th M ~> refers to what they would represent in our Alphabet
8 12 ~> refers to the letter's place in the Greek Alphabet
9 40 ~> refers to the Greek numeric value
Theta: egyptian symbol for the sun
Mu: hieroglyph of water
Top Right:
Lambda & Sigma
L S [our alphabet]
11 18 [place in alphabet]
30 200 [numeric value]
Lambda: pictogram of an ox goad or cattle prod (possibly a shepherd's staff)
Sigma: a symbol for Uraeus or a Cobra [possibly indicating summation or derivation]
Now the two "bad" ones: [bad only in the fact we're not really sure about them]
Top Left:
Tau & Phi or Qoppa
T Ph (or F) Q [our alphabet]
19 21 or -Qoppa is an obsolete letter- [place in alphabet]
300 [500 or 90] [numeric value]
Tau: mark or in ancient times a symbol of life/resurrection
Phi: [no real connection to egyptian hieroglyph] but possibly the golden ratio
Qoppa: monkey (or possibly someone's head and neck)
Bottom Right:
Nu or Eta & Theta
N or H Th [our alphabet]
[13 or 7] 8 [place in alphabet]
[50 or 8] 9 [numeric value]
Nu: hieroglyph for a snake
Eta: hieroglyph for a courtyard [or fence]
Theta: a warning of death [or from the Egyptian hieroglyph good]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
deagol on another thread had a very interesting idea of using the greek numeral values to add up to a 1800 phone number - tachyon may have been hinting to do something down those lines when she said "I know we thought there was a pi or an omicron in two of them but that doesn t add up with the other stuff I ve found"
http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6792&start=165
-sorry if i'm missing any possible replacements for pi and omicron just put up what i thought were the favorites right now
EDIT: ladron checked the phone numbers and none of them were good
Thanks again for the great summary, tristan. The only thing I'd add is that the lambda could actually be a gimel. I personally think it's a lambda, but I don't think we've gotten consensus on that one. |
Could it be more obvious and not so in depth? I mean could it be a T with a O ontop ? T=Tachryn and O=OpAphid? _________________ A new member completly confused by all the puzzles, but frying my brain trying to figure it out.
I wouldn't know obvious if you slapped me with it. |
theres always the possibility especially since we honestly arent sure about how to read this yet [and we would look very foolish having three indepth threads]. but the reason behind all the indepthness [yea thats not a word] is because Tachyon broke it down that way in the Semantics file.
the three original Tachyon files can be found here:
while her latest clue [i guess] is found here:
And in the mean time, Bree is torturing Jonas to get some info. We will look worthless if we can't come up with a valid interpretation at least for the new symbol (Theta+Eta?) she showed in her vid before Jonas dies in terrible pain. |
Could Theta + Eta (=fence) represent the Babysitters? |
