I don't think he was really smiling when Alex pointed the camera at him. It looked like he was just sort of confused to me.

Agh, I don't want to see that. He's going to look miserable, I'm sure. He's been through enough already, poor guy. And now Jonas' emotions have got to be spinning out of control too.

Hes smiling because he didn't think that for a second shes apart of the Order... It sort of made me upset too since after all, hes not there to date Alex, hes there with Jonas to stay somewhere safe.
I have a feeling Alex knows alot about the Order.... Maybe enough info that they can find useful in the long run.... but at this point, going back and asking her... risky.... Ohhh Tachyon???? Where are youuuu?

I don't know where people are getting this Fur Elise being the trigger? Daniel was not hearing that music when he went back to talk to Alex... it was edited into the video.

I don't think it is. The music was playing when Daniel and Jonas were talking and it continued while Daniel walked up to Alex's door, then stopped, and then it started again just before she sat down at (what looks like) the piano. |

Sorry guys. It just doesn't make sense to me. I mean, he has no concern in his eyes. He is probably just smitten and doesn't want to accept the fact that she is part of the order but, I don't know. If I saw my friend that freaked (especially Jonas because Jonas doesn't seem like the type to jump to conclusions) I would AT LEAST hear them out and wanna know what the video was about and whatnot. Ya know? Oh Bree and Tachyon...come save the day.

On the one hand I agree with you Lurker (man, I always end up agreeing with you!), and yet, I can see where Heddie's coming from, in a purely "want drama" kind of way...
The Beast has been a bit full of himself over this girl, and I sort of want to see some of that come back to bite him.
Not to mention that he really needs to start being more careful about this drinking and having a good time thing, that's twice now the order have gotten to him through that state of mind. He needs to be more careful. They are on the run, after all!

I can see what you mean about the drinking and having a good time thing. While he should be able to do that sort of thing (though he should always be responsible with it, regardless of circumstances), you are right that with circumstances being what they are (the whole Order pursuit) he shouldn't let go of his inhibitions like that. It could get him, Jonas and Bree into trouble - and since we expected Bree to get over her insensitivity and immaturity, it's only fair to expect Daniel to show a little more restraint.
Still though, I'd like for our Beast to be able to be full of himself over a girl just once and not get shot to hell like this. He's going to have no trust in women when this is all over. |

Nervous smile is a possibility too. I sometimes smile when I am put in an awkward situation, if nothing else to make the whole situation feel lighter.

I really loved it that Daniel was displaying confidence in his attitude towards women. This was sorely missing when he was Bree's little puppy dog. He needed to become more confident in this area; too bad it was a woman who was only leading him on for her own purposes that brought this out in him.
However, Lurker, I don't think he's irreparably damaged, at least not yet. Alex was not really someone he was considering having a full-blown, long-lasting relationship with (that I could see); she was just a potential temporary sexual liaison for the "playa". I don't think he'll have any problem getting over her at all, especially since he's seen her fangs now.
I hate to say it, but what I want most for Daniel is for Bree to finally return his love the way he'd always dreamed. If that doesn't happen, then I want him to find someone else to be happy with; but that doesn't seem likely, since he is virtually trapped with Bree due to getting involved with her conflict with the Order. Poor guy, sucks to be him.

We'll see. I think he may have been taking it a little more seriously than you expect (he was previously talking about things working out with her, and before that he was sort of musing about what he'd like to do with his life, and it was clear she had been some influence in that), but I've found that the plot is hard to predict, so I'll withhold judgment for now.

Yeah, seriously. If Bree comes around and Daniel's still willing to go for it with her, then that would be great. I was a long-suffering fan of the hope that she'd give him a chance, but eventually she got to where I was just hoping he'd get over her and find somebody else. I was rooting for him as long as he was going to try, though.
If she were to come around and he were to still want to, then I'd root for it again. I really don't want him to go back to being Bree's lapdog that she kicks whenever she feels like it, though. |
