Well, Hymn of One is hardly an ARG yet. I mean ... it hasn't done anything. And as far as I know neither True Free Will nor Maddison Atkins have any connection to the Creators.
I don't even think it's been confirmed that those last two have a connection to one another, for that matter. I know some fans think so, though, based on someone using the name "TFW" entering the Maddison chat a week or so ago - but I don't think it was ever confirmed that it was supposed to be a representative of the TFW. If I'm wrong, someone who knows more about it than me can correct me. I haven't religiously followed the Maddison Atkins ARG. I just check it out occasionally. |

TFW is a friend of the homing pidgeon sent to deliver the notes to Maddison on myspace. The homing pidgeon's myspace page:

Maddison, TFW, and the homing pidgeon are all each other's friends. I would say that ties them together.
Also, we know that TFW believes that Mr. Zip (author of the notes sent to Maddison by the pidgeon), is Jonas' dad.

And Trainer, Bree has to mention you in a video before you're canon...lol.

Maybe TFW and Maddison are connected (I was just going by the summary info in that section of the forum; I guess it hasn't been updated), but are we absolutely sure that either one is connected to the Creators' Hymn of One? I mean, they did say they weren't going to go with another ARG.
I know that Maddison is on the Hymn of One's friends list, but Jamie and Alessandra are also on Maddison's friends list, and Jackson Davis (not Jonas) is on the pidgeon's.
I have no idea what True Free Will's list is like since you have to join and be friended to see it (which is inconsistent with what other official profiles are like; anyone can see Bree's, Daniel's, Jonas' and the Hymn of One's; maybe that has something to do with the story, though, but it seems like a pretty weak defense to me).

When did they say they weren't going with another ARG? Last I heard they said they were working on getting another one going.
But even if they did say that this wasn't an official ARG, I don't think they would tell us if this were the case...because they wouldn't want to repeat the mistake of mixing LG15 and the ARG together again. I'm sure they learned a lesson last time; they must be kept separate from one another.

TFW's friends list is hidden (this can be done with a myspace profile editor). I guess they have to protect their agents.

I think they gave up on it. When they announced the resolution to the OpAPHID matter they said that there wouldn't again be "a standalone ARG that is separate and distinct from LG15." They said they were just going to try to include puzzles or interactions in LG15 itself (of course, they could have changed their mind on that too, but they made this statement after Maddison's first three videos had already come out).

Maybe so. But as long as they had ownership of the ARG there shouldn't be an issue, right? Also, in order for the ARG to actually have relevance to LG15's story, they'd have to mix it to some extent, right?

Let me reword it: The ARG is dependent on the story, of course; but the story must be able to stand alone without the ARG. Does that make more sense?

Yes, it makes sense. I don't think it would be a problem, though, as long as the Creators had ownership (which is the real lesson they needed to learn, I think). That's what made the OpAPHID arrangement a problem. They didn't get ownership of the ARG's characters (or even a license, it seems).
As of right now, I don't feel like Maddison is official. I may yet be proven wrong, though, and I'm willing to consider that (I'll also hate reading up on everything I missed by not paying more attention, so maybe I should look in there more often than I did before OpAPHID was declared canon; I'm going to have to ask them to fully update the summary thread, if they're willing). |

It still bothers me that OpAphid left. It is like just taking Walt and Michael out of the Lost storyline with no explanation.
There was a lot of the mystery unresolved. I knwo it's not the creators fault (I guess, I don't know if I could blame Glenn either though) but it's just a shitty situation. |
