|

We've all gotten used to the banner ads at the top of the page by now. These things are vital to helping support the Creators' endeavors to make LG15 as great as possible.
The Creators wanted to gauge people's reactions to additional ads. There are multiple ways to do this unobtrusively. Perhaps small text ads can run in the margins of the website or forum. Perhaps google text ads between certain posts in the forum.
Even adding one or two new ads can go a long way. So to that extent, how do people feel about advertising on the website and forum?

The ads are fine, but plzzz if you are going to add new ones don't make them those annoying pop ups or crazy flashing ones.
What you suggested BK sounds fine. |

If I had my druthers (and I've always rather wondered just what a "druthers" is ), I'd say I'd not have flashing ads, as they do bad things to my migraines (they can even trigger the things.
I'd also suggest not plopping ads between messages, as I've found those disconcerting...in that they don't encourage folks to read down below them - this would be bad for folks whose posts end up below those ads on the page.
For The Creators' sake (as far as revenue goes), I'd think pop-ups would be A Seriously Bad Idea, as ad revenue requires views...and so many people have pop-up blocking software now, they might lose views.
Side and bottom ads from ad words might definitely be a good idea, definitely... _________________ Diane, or cher, or even chershaytoute, but "Hey, you!" works, too...

Yeah, please no popups, and be careful which advertising agency you use - some of them propagate adware and spyware. You guys probably know more about this than I do. I can't for the life of me remember the names of the particular ones that do this. _________________ Cut scene to BDJ in a lubed-up cuddlefest. |

Trouble is - this placement is highly effective for getting noticed, and thus is more valuable real estate for text ads... _________________ President of the Owen Fan Club |

The in-between ads are fine if they look like ads. I'm sick of going on websites and getting confused because the googleads boxes look like the actual website material. I can skip over something that's a different colour and appearance to the rest of the forum. _________________ Cut scene to BDJ in a lubed-up cuddlefest. |

I hate ads that come between posts in threads, but other than that, I can deal with anything else, even pop ups. _________________ Raspberry Lemonade Slurpees!

Here comes the biggest suck-up, kiss-butt post I have ever made.
I think that most of us here at the forum have a unique perspective and insight into exactly how hard everyone works on the series. They deserve to make some real money for that hard work.
More ads, please. _________________ Official Jester of the LG15 Defense Force! |

Ads are fine as long as they don't pop up or lug my system down. Keep them simple - nothing too flashy that use alot of system resources - that would just annoy me - it would not do any favors for the advertisers. _________________ You made a wise choice, Bree.
