what exactly was the fate of Venus? i'm assuming that refers to the planet... but maybe we're now into the worship of ancient goddesses... now that is a direction i could get into!

of course, there is also reference to a japanese carp, that is released into foreign (american) bodies of water as part of a religious ceremony. which in turn consume all the phytoplankton, thus unbalancing the whole ecological system... the irony being the point of the ceremony is good karma due to being nice to the fishy.

Well Venus has a rediculously (sp?) thick atmosphere, which traps almost all the heat from the sun that gets there, making it crazy hot. (along with proximity to the sun)

Interesting connection between phytoplankton and Thelema.

I just wanted to add the definition of phytoplankton to the mix.

Phytoplankton are the microscopic plants that are the lowest on the food chain. (You know, people eat big fish that eat little fish that eat tiny fish that eat big plankton that eat little plankton that eat phytoplankton.)

Although they are so small and low on the food chain, they still have the power to influence climate change.

They are also good indicators of change in their environment.
