I don't know if someone else already brought this up, but Jonas mentioned the song My Name Is Jonas by Weezer in his first video. I looked up the lyrics, who knows, they may be an important clue about if we can trust him or not. Here it is:

Quote:
My name is jonas!
Im carrying the wheel.
Thanks for all youve shown us.
But this is how we feel.

Come sit next to me, pour yourself some tea.
Just like grandma made, when we couldnt find sleep.
Things were better then.
Once but never again.
Weve all left the den, let me tell you bout it.

The choo-choo train left right on time.
A ticket cost only your mind.
The driver said hey man, we go all the way.
Of course we were willing to pay!

My name is wepeel !
Got a box full of your toys.
Theyre fresh out of batteries.
But youre still making noise! making noise!
Tell me what to do,
Now the tank is dry, now this wheel is flat, and you know what else!
Guess what I received in the mail today,
Words of deep concern, for my little brother.

The buildings not going as he planned...
The foreman has injured his hand,
The dozer will not clear a path,
The driver swears he learned his math !

The workers are going home.
Workers are going home.
The workers are going home.
The workers are going home.
Yeah!

The workers are going home.
The workers are going home.
The workers are going home.
Yeah yeah yeah!

My name is jonas.

I'm not good at analyzing things, so if someone else would like to take a crack at it, maybe it will give us some insight. It all sounds kinda significant to me.....

I don't know, I don't see anything relevant in the lyrics. I think he just mentioned the song because it's called like him.

BTW, it's a great song.

I kind of see a relavance in the leaving home, the train, and a couple other things... but I don't think it hints at anything important...

Possibly Bree's parents? She did mention they weren't her real parents. Maybe they're the ones going home (at least her mom Wink).

Tell me what to do,
Now the tank is dry, now this wheel is flat, and you know what else!

^Bree and Daniel had to ditch their car
also could mean: running out of options

Guess what I received in the mail today,
Words of deep concern, for my little brother.

^Brother? hmmm...
also could mean: he's heard something bad will happen this his "little brother"

The buildings not going as he planned...
The foreman has injured his hand,
The dozer will not clear a path,
The driver swears he learned his math !

^Bree doesn't know what to do...her path isn't clear, but she thinks she knows what is right (to go to Jonas)

The workers are going home.
^Bree is coming to his house.

On the other hand, if there is something hidden in every single song, then we have A LOT of videos to go back and watch...personally, this song might have just been chosen because it said his name. Wink

Songs can easily be interpreted so they mean what you want them to mean.

It could just be a sign that he's older than he says he is (19?). That song was on the first, self-titled Weezer album, right? That was like 1994. He was automatically defensive of the fact that he knew who Max Hedrum was in the first video he posted. Those commercials came out in the mid-80's. Plus, he referenced the Terminator II movie which is from 1992 or so. I realize that he's a movie buff, but considering that every reference to pop culture he makes is from the early 90's, I'm thinking he's closer to my age (26)...or whoever's writing the script is closer to my age and didn't bother to research stuff that most 19-year-olds watch and listen to. Still, it's pretty conspicuous, so it could be an intentional nod to his older age...although Daniel referenced another random 90's movie, Point Break. What was the point of that?

Personally..

I think he googled searched for a song with his name in it..and then found that song..and thought it was perfect for his 1st video.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think that Jonas is just on top of every pop culture reference. I doubt that most of them have meaning. They just indicate that he, like Bree, has no life outside the house. That was just a good Weezer song, and kudos to him for knowing about it.

haha, i see it as more, he's proud of knowing more "retro" things than the younger groups. (yeah, retro's not really the early 90s, but for the sake of the convo.. yes) i know people who are proud of only listening to older music because it's the only "good" music.

"A ticket cost only your mind."

That sounds a little sketch...

Especially if you think if train as in the D-Train (or Daniel).

I know it sounds weird, but think about it.

I never did get these nicknames that Jonas invents for Daniel. I'm sure they all have a deeper meaning

If you think of choo-choo train as Daniel then it reads like this:

Daniel left right on time.
A ticket cost only your mind.
The driver (The Order) said hey man, we go all the way
Of course we were willing to pay!

I know its quite a stretch, but a sketchy stretch
