* [[A Message From The Creators]] -- The post on the [[phorum]] which acknowledged that lonelygirl15 was fiction was not well received by many fans.
* Youtube to Revver -- The switch from Youtube to Revver as primary host of the LG15 vblogs was considered by many to be the moment the show jumped the shark (primarily due to the adverts displayed at the end of each Revver video)

Because these locations in the Los Angeles area were believed to be known only to the LG15 production staff and cast, a great air of mystery still surrounds cassieiswatching as to how she came into possession of such knowledge.

The creators of the Lonelygirl15 project have disavowed any connection to cassieiswatching [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=718], though speculation among her fans remains that the disavowment may have been an aspect of the [[Alternate Reality Game]] of which cassieiswatching is believed to be a part. [[The Creators]] of Lonelygirl15 have yet to address this speculation directly, though moderators at [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum the official Lonelygirl15 forum] have stated that the forum [[Admin]] offered assuances that cassieiswatching is not directly related to [[Lonelygirl15]]. ==Origin ==

Cassieiswatching posted her first video on September 12, 2006. The creation of cassieiswatching appears to be inspired by two events:

(1) The lonelygirl15 video [[Swimming!]] dated August 29, 2006 contains three scenes in which the characters refer to a girl named Cassie. In the video, Bree asks Daniel about the fate of a girl she knew from high school. Daniel says he doesn't remember this girl. Bree unsuccessfully tries to spark his memory, and then says she used to walk the track with her and that other kids were mean to Cassie. The last scene contained a somber tone that contrasts with the rest of the video, which was lighthearted and intimate.

(2) The unveiling of lonelygirl15 as an interactive multimedia production [http://lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36] and not a real video blog on September 7, 2006. The YouTube page for the first cassieiswatching video, [[This Is My Story Now]], contains the tags "bree" "tells" "lies" in reference to the news that lonelygirl15 is not real. The video ends with a voice saying "come and get it," commonly interpreted as an invitation to lonelygirl15 viewers to participate in an alternate reality game.

The game has leveraged the use of multimedia and interactive content to generate clues for the participants. Clues have been discovered in two videos, an altered Bible page, a voicemail message and several puzzles using morse code and anagrams.

The entire video consists of a short walk from a building on the edge of a park into the play area and ending at the wall where Bree was standing [[In the Park]]. The video consists of [[inverted]] video, image "splash frames", and a reversed audio track. It begins with two birds in slow motion with a person saying "I was here" in reverse. Next, several still images are shown which includes two pictures of Bree from the [[In The Park]] video, dated September 14, 2006, a crime scene photo of the bodies of Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring as committed by the Manson Family members, another Manson Family crime photo from the LaBianca murder scene with "Healter Skelter" misspelled in blood on the refrigerator door, and several pictures of the park where the [[In The Park]] video was filmed (including a picture of clue #4). A loud scream is included with the still images. Then, the camera moves through the park at high speed to the location where Bree was waiting for Daniel in the [[In The Park]] video. Simultaneously, it plays audio of the Beatles song "Helter Skelter" at high speed (which includes the 'loud scream' previously mentioned) and U2's Bono saying "Charles Manson stole this from the Beatles, now were taking it back." in reference to the same song. The video suggests, that Cassie was in the park while Bree waited for Daniel, unbeknownst to either of them. The images shot in Cassie's video is taken from a different location than when Daniel was "spying" on Bree before meeting up with her in the park.

The video is heavily edited like the [[This Is My Story Now]] video but contains an ominous overtone due to the inverted color images, reversed audio, Tate-LaBianca crime scene photos and the 'scream'.
