Sorry Jay, but I really disagree with Buka's status as a "character". He purported to be an online fan who had no connection to Bree & Daniel any larger than any of us, except that he gets to run their fan site. Therefore if he's a character in LG, we all are. While he deserves a page, because his ineptness as forum admin led to the Anchor Cove secession and he was in a sense a bridge between the creators and the fans, he was not a part of the story at all. Also he can't be called an unseen character because by my definition (and I think a legitimate one), unseen characters only deserve that title if they've been mentioned in a video. Bukanator was never supposed to be part of the story, and he was never going to be seen on camera because he was not in their world. He was just a fan like all of us and therefore never a part of the story.

He was carrying what appeared to be a while lab coat in one hand and a briefcase in the other. The lab coat led some to believe that he is a doctor or scientist. In "[[How My Parents Met]]", Bree confirms that her father studied medicine at Oxford. She also says that Bree's father met her mother at a performance in London of the Tom Stoppard play "[[Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead]]".

Both hands were clearly visible in his brief appearance, and he wasn't wearing a wedding ring. It is possible that [[Bree]]'s somewhat unusual remarks about Pluto's new planet friends not having rings in "[[Poor Pluto]]" could be related.

==Conflict with Daniel==
In The Tolstoy Principle video, Bree's father pulls [[Daniel]] aside for a talk. Neither Bree's father nor Daniel are willing to tell Bree about the discussion. Bree later confronts Daniel about the conversation in [[What Did Daniel and Dad Talk About?]]. Daniel refuses to answer the question and eventually tells Bree that her father said she smells like cheese.

Daniel confesses in [[What Bree's Dad Said...]] that her father asked Daniel to film a play at Bree's religious camp. When Daniel refused, her father said that maybe Daniel should not be coming around anymore. Bree became mad at Daniel for posting this information on YouTube rather than telling her and they get in a big fight. Daniel later calms down and decides to attend Bree's play, even though he still refuses to film it.

Bree's parents allow Daniel and Bree to go [[Swimming!|swimming]]. But when Bree asks to go to a party with Daniel, her father refuses. After Bree sneaks out to the party anyway, her father catches her, places her under [[House Arrest]] and bans Daniel from the house.

The clues pointed to Bree living in Miami, Florida before moving to California in the spring of 2006. On or about September 5, 2006, "t" claimed that due to pressure from those behind lonelygirl15 and his non-disclosure agreement, he had to stop posting clues. In fact, it turned out that Phorum poster [[HyeMew]], through various means of deception including the creation and operation of the [[Danielbeast]] page on Myspace, determined that "t" was fake, and all of his clues were hoaxes.

t's greatest accomplishment was diverting the attention of [[Phorum]] sleuthers, who were spending inordinate amounts of time trying to find out the truth behind the project (instead of focusing on the mystery of the plot). In fact, it is believed that t went to [[the creators]] to try to get them to endorse his hoax to delay bree's discovery.

t's real signifigance is his position as the first LG15 fan to spend signficant time trying to deceive fans into believing he was connected to LG15, and thereby divert some of LG15's growing fame to himself.

The '''Phorum''' was the name of the original Web forums on [[Bukanator]]'s original fan site at www.lonelygirl15.com. Phorum was the name of the software used to power the message boards, which debuted on July 16, 2006. The term Phorum was used somewhat derisively, as the boards were poorly moderated.

During the month of August 2006, fans began to register at the site and discuss the mystery surrounding [[lonelygirl15]]. The lonelygirl videos had gotten popular enough that it had become difficult for fans to discuss the videos amid the comments on YouTube. Toward the end of August, hundreds of fans had registered on the Phorum discussion boards. The lonelygirl saga had attracted a wide array of fans, from YouTubers and bloggers, to journalists such as [[Virginia Heffernan]] and [[Richard Rushfield]], people in the entertainment industry, marketers, occultists and others who had been sucked into the lonelygirl15 phenomenon.

Because lonelygirl15.com was known to have been registered on May 12, 2006, before the videos started, most fans assumed that the site was being monitored. Many users at the site were concerned about sock-puppets and trolls who were supposedly posting false information to obscure the truth behind lonelygirl15. This led a group of users, who would come to be known as the [[Phorum 3]] to talk outside the Phorum via instant messages and develop a plan to trace IP addresses. The false-information controversies included a mysterious poster known as "[[t]]", who claimed to know who was behind the lonelygirl15 project, and posted "clues" about Bree's identity starting on August 31, 2006, which all turned out to be false.

As the number of users grew, the Phorum became increasingly unreadable, and flame wars became more common. For example, [[Jessica]] of the [[Phorum 3]] engaged in heated and lengthy debates with impish [[BigManOnCampus333]] over nothing much in particular. Frustrated with [[Bukanator]]'s lack of moderation, a group of fans set up a new forum, [[The Children of Anchor Cove]], on Sept. 4. Most fans left the Phorum. The administrators of Lonelygirl15.com eventually took down the Phorum and replaced it with more sophisticated forum software.

Many members of The Children of Anchor Cove still refer to the forums at lonelygirl15.com as the Phorum.

To its credit, the Phorum was also where many revelations that eventually led to the outing of the [[the Creators]] and [[Jessica Lee Rose]] were first posted and dissected. That information include:<br>

For several reasons: 1) Thoroughness is preferable. 2) Some browsers, especially on computers where the user does not have admin privileges (such as younger fans or people at work) and can't install different software, do not support the file format of Revver. Well, the site belongs to the site owners. The site owners legitimately want to promote getting a return on their investment, however small the return from Revver clickthrus might be. Having a resource on the site they own point to their preferred site for video embedding, *rather than* to another site, is their prerogative. I feel it's a gross misuse of the concept "censorship" to use it in this context. Censoring is done primarily by governmental entities, primarily to suppress information. This official site preferring one host site for its videos over other sites is no more censorship than Anchor Cove deciding not to host a forum for ''cassieiswatching.'' On the other hand, I'm not going to get into a revert war over this. Comments from the YouTube accounts are canon, thus he is canon. So he's a canon unseen character. For several reasons: 1) Thoroughness is preferable. 2) Some browsers, especially on computers where the user does not have admin privileges (such as younger fans or people at work) and can't install different software, do not support the file format of Revver. We've had a small revert war going on regarding Bukanator and Grant Steinfeld. Full disclosure: I originally created both pages because I thought they were significant. But it's not productive to keep deleting and undeleting his name from the main page. :I think it should be an open, not private, discussion. It seems to me that it's a problem because of Bukanator's strange status within the [[Breeniverse]]. He is a creation of [[The Creators]] and lonelygirl15 and Danielbeast both acknowledged him, and his administration of the fansite, in the comments of YouTube, thus he is a character. Comments from the YouTube accounts are canon, thus he is canon. So he's a canon unseen character. I think you could make the case that a better classification could be used than "unseen," but rather than add a category that's only Bukanator, I think we should leave him as an unseen character, and explain his story fully in his article--[[User:JayHenry|JayHenry]] 09:19, 8 October 2006 (PDT)

:It is only a private convo because of the category I placed it in. It could very well be moved to a public one, I know I'd like you to see it Jay. Of course lg15 and db "acknowledged" Buka, there is no question that he is "canon" and not a cassie spin-off character. What I'm saying is whether he is a character in the integral story line. For example in the Cookie movie some people that sent in suggestions were mentioned. Winekone and Brookers, etc. have been mentioned in the videos as well. Buka has not. Does that mean these random people are "unseen" characters too, just because Bree has mentioned them? No, Winekone nor Buka (as of right now) have not done anything to be a "part" of the story, and therefore not a character. If things had gone according to plan, we all would have thought Buka to just be some random fan who made a site like all the rest of us and there wouldn't even be a discussion as to whether he's a character to the plot or not. Remember, every page ever doesn't need a special place on the main page. I wouldn't be opposed to Buka being somewhere (a crew section, perhaps, as he is a "crew" member of sorts), but we can't confuse running the tribute site with being a character in the story! If the "storyline" is perceived as being Bree and Daniel *and the response building up around them on the internet,* then any entity confirmed to have been invented by Miles/Mesh/Greg is just as valid a character as Daniel and Bree and Lucy are. For several reasons: 1) Thoroughness is preferable. 2) Some browsers, especially on computers where the user does not have admin privileges (such as younger fans or people at work) and can't install different software, do not support the file format of Revver. The Homeschoolers Aggregate appears to be a secular forum for gifted homeschoolers to receive informal assignments in and to discuss Literary Theory, Poetry, Art, and Moral and Ethical Philosophy. Whether the Aggregate is an accredited institution, and whether it supports other subjects outside the liberal arts, is unknown.

Internet fans of Bree stumbled across the HSAOnline introductory and training videos hosted on YouTube. The source of the lonelyfans' speculation that Bree is/was a student of the Homeschoolers Aggregate is unknown, but several participants of the Tribute to Lonelygirl15 Phorum flocked to register in a new session to be administered by HSAOnline's strict but supportive educator, Ms. Kelly, who continually exhorts the students to "Study up!"

Hey HyeMew, I noticed that there's been a little edit war (more like a revert skirmish, maybe) on the main page about Bukanator... I realize I started it by adding Bukanator and Steinfeld pages in the first place, but now I think the important thing is that we reach a consensus. After initially throwing the articles up, I've stayed away from it, but I think it should be discussed.
