The poll results were also in favor of trusting Jonas.

On December 9th, the video [[Your Decision]] was posted. [[Bree]], [[Daniel]] and [[Jonas]] all go to the meeting location provided by GoodGollyItsHolly. [[Daniel]] rescinds his approval of the test and decides that regardless what their Internet friends say, he does not want to go with [[Jonas]]. [[Bree]] insists on staying with [[Jonas]], so she and [[Daniel]] go their separate ways. Fans were surprised at this plot twist, including GoodGollyItsHolly, who said she had not counted on [[Daniel]] changing his mind.

Daniel's selection of GoodGollyItsHolly led to speculation that she was officially connected with [[The Creators|the Creators]]. This speculation was fueled by the fact that her posts in the video comments since [[The Test]] are very short, generic, and never refer back to any specific fan's input. Fans note the similarity between this manner of posting and that of [[Bree]] and [[Daniel]] when they post. Fans were especially suspicious of the fact that GoodGollyItsHolly never expressed excitement or even surprise that she was picked by [[Daniel]] from a selection of so many fans. Her posts in the forum, however, are more in character.

Fans have also noted that it is implausible that [[Daniel]] would trust an arbitrary Internet friend with such a crucial decision as whether to trust Jonas.

Speculation claiming that GoodGollyItsHolly is dubious because she is such an established fan of [[LG15]] who has been interacting with other fans on a personal basis for months before [[The Test]]. Nonetheless, fans note that it is possible that she allowed [[The Creators|the Creators]] to use her username in moderating the debate which followed [[The Test]].

In order for the fictional universe to appear cohesive, especially in fictions that contain multiple parts, both creators and audiences sometimes find it useful to define what has and has not "actually happened" in that universe. Usually items that are considered canon come from the original source of the fictional universe while non-canon material comes from adaptations, spin-offs or unofficial items, often in different media."

The term has been very popular with LG users speculating on whether or not charcters on YouTube are an official part of the LG universe or not.

The following list is highly speculative and the relative probabilities will probably change over time. This list just represents an "educated guess' by the user community based on the current available information. To provide a standard "litmus test" a character will not be declared official until they are included on the video list of lonelygirl.com. At that time they will be removed from this speculative list.

Before officially acknowledged, many users thought Jonas was an official character because of his videos' high production value and editing style. This kind of unlikely and dramatic detail also pointed to Jonas being canon (although something like that is not something that couldn't happen to a character outside of the Lonelygirl15 story).

In Bree's [[Thanksgiving]] video she acknowledged Jonas: "Well, I feel silly. I thought about what you said, Jonas, and I realized I've been taking [[Daniel]] for granted. . . Thank you for reminding me what's important." This reference convinced many that he was [[canon]], and this was confirmed with the release of [[Trust Issues]] on November 29, 2006 as an official lg15 video. This is similar to the way [[Gemma]] was brought into the story.

Cassie's relationship with LG15 is especially ambiguous. Bree mentions Cassie in [[Swimming!]] and [[OpAphid]], the official [[ARG]] of LG15, has interacted with Cassie. But [[The Creators]] have also officially disavowed the [[cassieiswatching]] ARG because they disliked how "dark" it became.

Nonetheless, her mention in both LG15 and OpAphid suggests that Cassie may eventually join the host of canonized characters. ''See [[What ever happened to that girl, Cassie?]].''

'''Daniel, a.k.a. Danielbeast''', is [[Bree]]'s best friend and later love interest, and the co-star of the Lonelygirl15 [[List of Lonelygirl15 videos|video series]]. He is played by [[Yousef Abu-Taleb]]. He graduated high school in June 2006 and had a graduation party which Bree was not allowed to attend. Daniel urged Bree to rebel against her strict parents and is concerned about whatever religion and the ceremony she was involved in. Like many of the fans, Daniel has also begun to investigate these mysterious things surrounding Bree and has taken to following her around and recording her actions, even after Bree has asked him not to do so via a video post. On both these occassions [[Lucy]] was taking Bree somewhere; once to a nearby park for what appeared to be a practice session for the upcoming ceremony and then a trip to a medical complex.

He is much more social than Bree, he has friends besides her and goes to parties, which he has coerced Bree into sneaking out to go to. Two of his other friends have been named, [[Paul]] and [[Andrea]].

Several of Daniel's videos have been made in [[Daniel's bedroom]].

Daniel has on one occasion broken into Lucy's apartment. He found on her computer pictures of himself. He became worried and posted a video on the subject. His worries have reflected onto Bree, causing her to question her [[Bree's religion|religion]].

Daniel's videos 50, 52 and 55 have all been shot letterbox style as opposed the the regular 4:3 format. This may just be for dramatic effect but there may be other implications.

Daniel dropped out of school at a junior college, where he was taking film classes, and left his job at [[Gas 'n Eats]] to accompany Bree [[The road trip|on the run]] from [[the Order]].

Daniel is a Biblical name from Hebrew (דניאל) meaning "God is my judge." This name was borne from the prophet whose story is told in the [[Bible|Book of Daniel]].
