(In TiKO script) Don't think we've forgotten about: TiKO FOUNDATION

(Revolving planet, caption: HSA: An Explanation)

We must acknowledge the pieces that wait to be connected, students. There is still much to learn from your peer Bree. And let's not forget a most pressing issue that needs to be resolved.

However, we feel that it is best for those involved if we do not address these matters now.

Ms. Kelly needs to rest.

Before she eases into sleep, she felt obligated to offer an explanation to her loyal and cherished students.

Contrition

Ms. Kelly: Sorry if you're confused, only, (An arm is shown across the screen) I didn't mean for it to happen this way. You see, I'm just subtle flesh, (An x-ray of veins) pliable muscle, and a maze of veins that carry oxygen along this faded skeleton. (A 3D skeleton disolves up from the feet to the head) And it can be rubbed away easily. And I don't always know (A woman splashes in the water) the concluding points, or where the avenues intersect, (Petals fly across the screen) and I'm so dependent upon the light- so please accept my apologies. It is tangibly make-believe, (A living room, with a fireplace, couches, lamps, and plants) and truthfully real. And I need to sleep, suspend myself in pretend air, (A forest with tall trees) erasable sunlight, imaginary water, inconsequential revenge. (Colors flash by as the camera whirls around and a hand briefly shows up on the screen, then goes offscreen) And you can yawn, or laugh, or scrape away at the cracks of my flaking facade, to see what's hidden beneath, (Two drops of water fall and create ripples) and I can be anything you'd like me to be, golden, (A hand holds a shining orb) lovely, deep, unending, empty. It all depends upon your fancy, (The forest again) and how you choose to weild the power (The hand & orb) you possess in the palm of your hand.
(In TiKO script) We have some plans for TiKO FOUNDATION

Screen turns to black background colour with white text. "We provide for ourselves, now."

We see the usual image of the planet spinning around the sun with a blue background and black tab with white text. "HSA: What have we learned?"

Ms Kelly's symbol is shown on the screen. "Power provides sticky situations," Shot of trees and a late part of a sunset. "and is a wonderful concept until people get involved." Image of Zeus is shown "Zeus and Hera were partners" image of Hera (less detailed than that of Zeus) is shown "but Western history has skewed their stories." Silouet of a woman dancing on the beach with a scarf "Hera has been ascribed womanly attributes leaving her jealous and meek. Sometimes it is easy to accept women this way." Image of water dripping. Image of a ball of flame. "Prometheus has angered the gods again and again" Image of water driping on a puddle. "How many times do we anger our gods, our creators," Image of glowing blue "our providers, if only with questions?" Image of an hourglass with all the sand up top. "I'm still wondering about whether creation really exists." Image of hands holding ___ "Can we really make our own worlds?" Image of blue sky over treetops "If I fashion a blue sky, is it mine?" Image of a window with curtains fluttering in the wind. "because outside my window," return to image of sky over tree tops. "something is hovering" screen turns saphire "and sapphire." show a jigsaw puzzle of a human head with a few pieces missing, as Ms. Kelly talks the pieces go into their proper places. "And if we remake ourselves," Image of double helix and 3D model of human body "are we original?" Images photoshoped together of people preforming (with microphones) "Or do we need to construct" image of elctrical signals going through the brain? "our organs in a new way? I formed a heart, but someone else provided a beat." Image of fanous painting (also shown in A New Beginning) "(I think it was you.)" Image of woman in water with flower petals around her "So I share and return and covet and bleed. But only, the ink ran out,"

so everything is now just in black and white.
Airless and constricted.
So, will you breathe for me?
I’d fill your lungs, if you asked me to.
So forget about creating.
My fingers are tired from the building, pecking and pushing.
Let’s just sit for awhile together, watching our universe spin.
I cannot take all the credit for this. You chose the axis.
And with a flick of your wrist, you spun energy into motion.
I like orbiting with you.
I especially like how you allow the seasons to fall into place.
Our backs are now to winter, here.
Green is beginning to emerge because you willed it.
So what did we learn?
I am not sure.
Time will reveal answers when answers are ready to be revealed.
Silenthttp://lg15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=Term_Registration&diff=30131Term Registration2007-03-19T20:29:33Z
Silent: format

Term 1 Registration

Registration Assignment:

It's whose story now?

This term is all about creation:

Recreative creation

Cooperative creation

Technological creation

If you have not been through orientation, you will.

If you have been through orientation, you're a veteran.

Some brave souls have even been through a period of disorientation.

(for which I continually commit grave acts of contrition)

Now for the first steps:

Review or research or revel or revile the works on the page.

Get into the class notebook.

Be prepared to affix your own hand print, head game, non-testament epistles or mind design.

Much like Catherine & Billie Jo

Worlds and Letters

A Germane (sp.) Truth

Let us all be Bantocks

and Nick at the Golden Griffin understand what it denotes as I really Mean the Notebook is so Sabine.

So as for the password,

Boone's first question will get you in the door.

(plus a little spark)

But no capitals, please.

Term 1 will be about giving: research, uncover, construct, emerge

Research, Uncover,

Construct, Emerge

Research, Uncover,

Construct, Emerge

It's a mantra.

Know it as a rule.

It's a mantra.

Know it like you know the rules.

(Revolving planet, caption: HSA: Term 1)

It's a mantra you will need to know.

Study up, students.
Silenthttp://lg15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=A_New_Beginning&diff=30000A New Beginning2007-03-19T02:43:21Z
Silent: typo

It's time.

Is your homeschooler bored?

Is your child limited in opportunities for positive social interaction?

As a parent, are you having trouble finding meaningful and challenging curricular materials?

If so, Home Schoolers Aggregate Online is just right for you.

(The Assumption of the Virgin by Francesco Botticini)

Like the young people we serve, we are changing and growing.

Life is complicated. We veer and bend. Lose sight. Go off track.

Sometimes we find ourselves lost, confused and alone.

These are natural parts of life.

With an exciting new curricular focus and more opportunities for involvement, HSA is ready to start anew.

December 1st is the beginning.

Our students have strong minds.

We need students who want to move forward.

We need students who understand the importance of discipline

and the necessity of structure.

When we get off track,

chaos and confusion rule our lives.

These are important life lessons.

These are experiences that help us

grow, connect, unite.

These experiences help us to start fresh, and see the world through new eyes and glorious new perspectives.

We need students to share this glory.

We need students who will find answers to our questions.

Even if the past was a nightmare of reckless chances,

everything happens for a reason.

Everything does.

We want new students who can learn from our past students.

They have experienced quite a journey with us.

The faithful have demonstrated their belief in our path.

They have proven their worth, devotion and loyalty.

They have built trust.

They have earned respect.

Doesn't your child deserve to face challenges that will expand the mind?

Doesn't your child deserve to be a part of our rebirth?

When faced with challenges, strength and fortitude prevail. We demonstrate this fact.

Let your child experience all that we have to offer.

This is where we expose Ms. Rose Kelly.

Rose Marie Crandall married a man twice her age. He was from the Crowley family.

But not that Crowley family.

She was disappointed. But, she called herself Rose Kelly anyway.

Just to make people think.

She married old Phillip Crowley. With passionate infatuation, he vowed to take care of her.

(Black and white drawing of a man in a top hat, riding boots, and a coat kissing the hand of a bored looking woman in tight clothing with her hair tied up in a bun.)

Rose Marie Crandall-Crowley-Kelly imploded for the first time as a small child. Each time, she put herself together again.

This seemed much too complicated for such a spindly, little girl.

She had no choice but to stop the implosions. So she began to explode. Slowly and quietly at first.

It took much concentrated practice.

But even as a child, Rose possessed much willpower.

Then as time passed, the explosions came more frequently, and began spreading over all her skin.

Then the combustions came spontaneously.

Rose loves the heat and how it feels.

Gogo says, "Rose loves control. She loves the senses. She wants to make the air interesting and breathing peaceful,

even if it means the lungs fill to capacity with empty. Rose has great phrases, and devoid of light and eyes,

she can utter nonsense.

Rose is gone away. She is gone. She has gone. She is away."

The world keeps moving and turning and continues this way and will always continue this way.

Rose is spinning.

Phillip is concerned.

Who doesn't love life?

Rose is exposed. Rose is spinning. Rose is everywhere.

Rose is lovely. Rose is crying. Rose is laughing.

Rose has slipped on her shoes. Rose is gone.

Rose Marie Crandall-Crowley-Kelly was overheard saying:

"When it envelopes you, the flames stop licking and become cotton clouds like it's snowing,

and the smallest inferno can penetrate just like the yawning sun soaks bronze summer skin."

(Revolving planet, caption: HSA Memo: A Tangled Web)

a memorandum

trust and loyalty

At HSA, we must focus on the importance of trust.

Trust your elders, trust your family, trust in tradition.

Lies have no place here.

But you already knew that, didn't you?

You must trust in time-honored practices.

You know that, too.

Lies only complicate the picture.

They make us forget what is true and necessary.

When we wipe away the filth of lies with honesty, life is cleaner, smoother, more comfortable.

We want you to be comfortable.

We appreciate questions.

But only if they are helpful.

No one needs all the answers.

Not now, anyway.

Ms. Kelly knows you.

She wants you to be careful.

TWJaniak: Truth in Friendship is the fourth video put up by Ms. Kelly of The Homeschoolers Aggregate. It is a guest lecture by TWJaniak.

Transcript
TWJaniak: (Trees by a river in the fall.) Truth: the property of being in accord with fact or reality. (A new view of fall trees and river. A car drives by on the road.) These realities can be liberating, or they can be (A park where the ground is covered in fall leaves and a black bird walks along the ground.) frightening, leaving us cold and defenseless, alone in the world. (A clip of the tops of fall trees which pans down to old-fashioned buildings and a parking lot.) Truth (A fancy water fountain.) can be a thing of beauty and a source of great comfort, (Water rippling.) but when misinterpreted, (A clip of partially frozen water with seven fall leaves on it which pans out to a wider shot of a fountain.) truth can seem to be a nightmare. (TWJaniak in a tan coat, a blue button up shirt, and sunglasses. He is standing in a snow-covered field where snow is falling. There are snow-covered trees in the background. There is a fence off to the viewer's right and what appears to be a soccer goal off to the left.) Students, your peers, Bree and Daniel, are both suffering in their friendship because of a misunderstanding of the truth on both of their parts. For Daniel; he believes Bree is in danger in her ceremony because of the scant information he has about Aleister Crowley and his more nefarious undertakings throughout his life. Because of this, he believes Bree is in danger. Bree, on the other hand, believes Daniel is selfish and wants Bree to be... the person he wants Bree to be. Both Bree and Daniel are operating under opinions that they think are fact, that they think are reality, but they are both wrong. So what are people to do in their friendships and relationships when they may not have all the facts, when truth is not entirely understood? The bridge between friendship and truth is trust. Daniel needs to trust that Bree knows what she's talking about. Bree, for her part, needs to trust that... Daniel is only operating under what he knows to be fact. She has an obligation to correct those facts. (Wind picks up and TWJaniak looks around.) In your relationships with your friends, do not presume to know the truth. Trust your friends, trust that they know what they need, but also trust when your friends come to you with concerns. Explain to them what you understand to be the truth and listen to them and let them do the same for you. A world without trust is a frightening and scary place, learn to trust each other, otherwise your friendships and truth will be as cold and as barren (TWJaniak looks around himself again.) as this Friday the thirteenth.
Academic Obligations

One: How to Prepare for Discussions

Be sure to read.

Two to three hours a day of academic reading is a must.

You can also enjoy up to two hours of pleasurable reading from our reading list.

Write 1 response paper for each discussion question. This will allow your assistant to be sure you fully understand the work.

This paper should be submitted in MLA format as an attachment and uploaded to our private user forum.

Two: How to Prepare Family Work

You should complete the work from your family curriculum daily. This consists of the reading and discussion questions developed by Ms. Kelly and your parents.

The work from your family curriculum should be emailed as an attachment to your assistant. Your assistant is the only person you should privately email.

Three: A Reminder

Please refrain from using our guestbook at the hsaonline page to comment. This guestbook is for visitors, interested parties, and those seeking to renew.

Those who have been expelled should refrain from using this guestbook to make contact. We will contact you and your family at the necessary time.

Finally: please stay focused on the work at hand. Your family curriculum should not be discussed with peers.

Study up, students.

Not a neat pity.

Seek specter.
How to Interact with Peers Online

One

Always identify yourself by first name and user code.

Example:

Jill000

Two

Never use your last name.

You risk expulsion.

Three

Do not ask for peers' last names.

You risk expulsion.

Four

Never share your email. Utilize our forum for all interaction.

Five

Never disclose your location.

You risk your safety.

Six

Never share personal family information with peers.

You risk family peace.

Finally

We should all learn from the mistakes of the past.

As unfortunate as recent incidents have been, we have an opportunity to learn from them.

Share your love for knowledge. Not your private information.

Now, study up, students.

We're always waiting.
| description = (The Silence from Above by Joseph C Raineri)Decision-making is a most important area of personal growth. Afflicted Zeus made the decision to allow Prometheus to hold his painful and suffering head, which would enable the bastard Hephaestus to crack open the aching skull of Zeus and allow the release of Athena, the goddess of civilization. This decision of Zeus offered so much to so many. Athena was allowed to feel herself emerge, and she decided to touch everything with meaning. As a thankful gesture, she taught Prometheus the wonders of the world: the endless maze of astronomy, the infinite planes of mathematics, the solid and delicate manner of architecture, the wind-blown angles of navigation, the deep, hot imagination of metalworking, the slow explosion of writing. And he, in turn, passed this knowledge to humanity. Lame Hephaestus was able to split open the head of his not-father without fear of retaliation or even castigation for this brutal act. (Quite a reward for a denied child). And Zeus was rid of the continual pounding- that movement in his head of everything that was Athena; an aching skull that roared and exploded with knowledge's magic.
(Camera following people walking) Yeah, I know, I've been thinking (A woman walks through the front doors of a building) about the treatment, but isn't there another way? (A woman and a man walk down a hallway) I mean I tried to research it, I just couldn't find any information. I mean it sounds a little sketchy, you know I don't want to offend, (Two doors against a sky) but isn't there another way? Yes, I trust you, (Shadows of a woman and man) but that's not it. C'mon, doctor. (A man, resting his chin on his hand) Decision making is the most important area of personal growth. (Shadows of woman and man then an hourglass, changing colors) I know this is not a video lesson and you know you don't have to bring it, (Shadows of a woman and a man) I just want to know that it's safe. Is it neccesary. (Layered voices) Why not? It's not about trust. No! - Why is it such a secret? No, I know. (Layered voices end. A woman's hands rest on her knee Echoed;) You promise? (A man's face looks down, then up; then a river with a first standing next to it, arms outstretched) It doesn't feel bad. (Echo ends. Ms. Kelly: (Clip of a needle being inserted into skin; the picture is distorted) Just relax. Take it like I took it. You'll get used to it. By injection the affects last for weeks. But you knew that already, right? But still- what you're feeling (Brown bubbles float around) is not really joy, doctor. But you knew that, too. Needless to say, I am very annoyed with TiKO right now. (Clip of a woman in a darkened office, walking around) While I was floating around there were lessons to be shared. People having no problem breaking into relatives homes, (Bubbles floating around, changing colors) yet deciding not to use fake names at the emergancy room have been held back. (A mans face, eyes closed, with numbers running over it) I'm a patient woman but when it comes to my work, (A different man, shapes running over his skin) my students, my life- I tend to get impatient. (Brown bubbles floating around, then hands, tied behind a person's back. Voices are layered, with the second line garbled) To manipulate them with the ridiculous guidelines and foolish curiculums (End layered voices. A man, tied to a chair, struggling) Don't fight it, it's no use. (A hand, twirling a lock) Just give me the combination. (Brown bubbles) Now, (A woman's hands holding a paper, tapping a pen on it) I think we need to go over a few things. (The man with shapes running over his skin) Hey listen, I- I don't want to tape up your mouth, but I will, (Hands and paper) so just relax. (Man struggling in a chair) I'll tell you what, (A woman walking down a darkened hall) TiKO better realize that they have offended me with their shameful antics, and I hope they understand that getting on my bad side is quite a poor decision to make. (A woman walking outside with a bag in her hand)
| description = (The Silence from Above by Joseph C Raineri)Decision-making is a most important area of personal growth.

Daniel: Well, Bree left-

Jonas: See ya.

Daniel: So, anyways, were on our way to the airport right now to pick up Jonas' aunt, and, ah, Bree decided to go hang out with Tachyon. Yeah, I'm sure that's the only reason she left though, to hang out with Tachyon. Ya think? Yeah, maybe? Just- what? Tell everyone out here what you asked her before she left.

Jonas: No, that was just- a thing, I'm not gonna-

Daniel: No, tell us! It was a- a joke, right?

Jonas: Yeah, ofcourse it was a joke.

Daniel: Well then, tell us.

Jonas: No.

Daniel: Why? Why not? You think it was just a little bit messed up?

Jonas: Okay, okay, I'll tell you.

Daniel: Alright, cool.

Jonas: It was really innocent, she way overreacted, but I said, uh, this thing my mom used to tell me, she would say, Jonas, uh, would you rather be dumber than you look or look dumber than you are? And I would say, well, I'd rather look dumber than I am, and she'd say, are you sure that's possible? See, innocent.

Daniel: Well, let's put it like this- he said that to Bree, yeah, Bree, like as in, the brainchild, Bree? I'm-so-smart Bree. Yeah. Bree. Bree. It was kind of the straw that broke the camels back. Within two hours she was all packed up and ready for Tachyon to pick her up. What d'ya think they're doing?

Jonas: Mmm, talking about ways to kill me? Oh, listen, before we pick up my aunt, uh, I don't know how kosher she's going to be with the whole beanie I pulled on her office the other day-

Daniel: Are you serious?

Jonas: Yeah

Daniel: No one tells us

Jonas: It'll be fine. It's- I'm pretty sure.

Daniel: You're sure? Then why'd you replace the lock? Are you gonna tell her about the stuff you found?

Jonas: I don't know.

Daniel: How do you tell her without telling her that you broke into her office?

Jonas: Yeah, good point.

Daniel: What're you gonna tell her about your hand?

Jonas: Uh, I don't think I'm gonna-

Daniel: It's a connundrum.

Jonas: Yes Daniel-sun, it is a connundrum.

Daniel: She's divorced, right? Did she ever like, remarry-

Jonas: Daniel? Daniel. Dude.

Daniel: What?

Jonas: Listen to me.

Daniel: I'm not-

Jonas: Do not hit-

Daniel: I'm not going to-

Jonas: Do not hit on my aunt.

Daniel: All I'm saying is-

Jonas: If you hit on my aunt, I will go Bree on you.

Daniel: All right. Say hi to the camera.

Alex: Hi.

Daniel: So, I don't know, maybe tell us a little something about Rome?

Alex: Is he serious?

Jonas: Mmhmm. But, um, just ignore him.

Daniel: Whatever, dude.

Alex: Oh my god, what happened to your hand?

Jonas: Oh, um- nothing, you know, I just, um, I cut it in the kitchen-

Alex: Are you okay?

Jonas: I was making salad,
Ms. Kelly: (Clip of a woman in an old-fashioned dress drinking from a wine glass) What we perceive is often different (Clip of a different woman in an old-fashioned dress, sitting down next to a man in old-fashioned clothing on a coach) from the reality of a situation. Our expectations (Clip of a wine glass falling on the ground and breaking, spilling a red liquid) can cloud our vision, and these expectations can even effect our memories. (Black-and-white clip of a bar, with many people talking to each other) And this can cloud our feelings of self-worth. There are some people who rely on this fact. (Clip of a man in old-fashioned clothing sitting on a coach- a woman and boy both come and sit with him, smiling happily) However, because our past may not be an ideal vision of what we wish life could be, we just have to move forward. (Clip of a man and woman in old-fashioned clothing talking to each other) Though the seas could be rough, we must forge on, and when the tide seems unyielding, (Clip of a wine glass falling and breaking, this time with blue liquid) we must continue. You can save yourself by hiding (Clip of a pond, with barren surroundings) in the tiniest pond, proud of your most basic movements in the shallows, (Clip of a woman splashing around in the water, the colors distorted) or you can dive into wider oceans, (clip from underwater of fish swimming around) where the unpredictable allows for greater motion and freedom. (Clip of a single silver fish swimming in water) Or, you can stay a cliche, a big fish in that little pond, and if the right choice for you is that little pond, (Clip of a starfish on the sand- the camera zooms up and away as the tide washes over the starfish; when the camera zooms in again, the water is gone and the starfish has lost its color) please, beware of tiny inlets. Sometimes they contain brackish water where the sharks can swim in, and they'll leave you worse than just washed up.

Ms. Kelly: No, actually (Computer-made water) I don't have any trouble sleeping, or waking up, it's just (Two drops of water fall, making ripples, in slow motion) what goes through my head all day. Yes, I believe in living a structured existence. Well, it's important (Clip of a woman slowly looking towards the camera) because it's easier to predict outcomes, I mean if you spend your life flying by (Hands playing with a pen) the seat of your pants, or not planning, or approaching everything (Clip of woman from before, putting her hands together) with spontaneous impulses, then you should expect (Two drops of water fall, making ripples in slow motion) the outcome to certain situations to be just as unpredictable. And sometimes even grieve. No, I mean some spontaneity is good, (Computer-made water) yes, just in appropriate situations. (Clip from point of view of a car in a red roller coaster, going up the tracks) Well, like at the amusement park. (Clip of several people putting coins in slot machines in fast motion) Or at a casino. Yeah, I like (Clip of woman from before, taking a deep breath) casinos sometimes. (Hands playing with a pen) In moderation. I mean I'm not a nun (Computer-made water) or anything. (Hands playing with pen) How's that interesting? I mean I've been seeing you for some time now, (Blackness, with rays of light coming in from the left) I'd say you know pretty much everything there is to know about me. (A hand is behind a lit candle. The candle is moved over to light an unlit candle) Yeah, I think that I can say you know what my goals are. Secrets? I think if there were secrets that I was harboring, I certainly wouldn't tell you about them. (A person is standing next to a body of water with a flat candle; another person is in the water) Because then they wouldn't be secrets! Yeah, I'm sure there are things about me (Another clip of a candle lighting another) that would surprise you. I don't know, shock you, repulse you, stimulate you, but that's not why I'm here. (A woman is splashing around in the water) I'm here to try to figure this out, I need to see what this is all about. (Same clip, but now in black and white) No, I don't want to go into that now, I want know about these dreams. (Back to color again) I've spoken to a lot of people who've given me a lot of good advice, like dream interpretation, the meanings of water and all that. (An image of dark water, moving) I figure we could look into that, put the pieces together. (Image turns to black and white, then back to color.) Doctor. I think you'd be surprised about (Clip of a woman in water, only her head above) what I'm willing to accept.
Silenthttp://lg15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=Weekly_Visit&diff=27296Weekly Visit2007-03-10T01:46:04Z
Silent: Added transcript

Ms. Kelly: (A pair of hands play with a pen, taking it in and out of its cap and twirling it around) Thank you, doctor. Well, (Images flash by on either side of the screen on a green, code-like background; a satellite, a triangle, a spiral, an @ symbol, Saturn, a checkered cube, a brain, a head, a globe) I've been having these dreams- not like ordinary dreams, (Two drops of water fall, producing ripples) you know, they're so intense. You know, like, those dreams (Trees against a white sky) where you wake up believing what's happened, like a dream where (A statue of an angel) you see an angel and wake up expecting to see one at the foot of your bed? I used to have those (The trees again) kinds of dreams after my father passed away. And these are just as powerful. (A clip of a man picking up a little girl and hugging her) Yeah, I was just a little girl at the time. But I would have these dreams where he was alive, and I'd just wake up feeling so happy. Oh, but then I'd realize it was (A little girl walks down a beach) all a dream and that happy feeling would go back (A funeral, taking place behind the statue of the angel) and I'd just have to greive all over again. (Background of code again, with images flying) That powerful. (A hand is writing ona notepad) No, he hasn't been in any of these dreams, but (The camera zooms down a tunnel of different colors) they're just as intense. (Water, computer-wise) Like, you know those dreams where you're flying, (The trees) or some nightmare you just can't shake out of your head all day? Well, my dreams have been that vivid. (Drops of water fall and create ripples) And they've really been affecting me. No, they're not- nightmares, really. They just have to do with (Clip of a woman lying in water, only her head above) water. Lots of water, (A woman comes up from under the water, bringing her head out of it) and me in it. And usually I'm- I'm like, dead. (Blurry clips of a woman, laughing, then return to the hand with the pen) Well, I don't have anything against water, I mean, I learned how to swim when I was young, (Tunnel of colors) and I like the beach sometimes, but it's just, (Background of code, images flying. Images start with Saturn and also contain a compass, eyes, a CD, a human form, a calculator, a computer, a DNA strand, another head, the moon) it's not a major part of my life. And that's why these dreams are bothering me. (Clip of a two-story house, a light on the upper level is turned on) Well, usually I'm either (Clip of a woman diving into water) diving in or playing. You know how dreams are, you can be seeing someone you know, (Clip of a woman with only her head above water) and then it becomes someone else, and it all seems to make sense (A series of pictures from the lesson; the columns one, the Mary one, the colors one) because it's a dream, and it's real at the time, and you don't really question the logic,(computer-made water) well, I'll walk on it all day, just feeling different and thinking about water. (Two drops fall and make ripples) Yeah, I mean it's affected my work, (Picture of sand), I mean right now I'm working on restructuring my program (Background of code and flying images) and I have some really good ideas for my financial backers, (A metallic sign: HSA) but I'm just feeling so different (A lake at night, with people walking quickly on the shore) about my practice. No, I love (The HSA Burning Girl logo) to teach, and learn, (computer-made water) but lately I feel like I have (A picture of a woman's face, eyes closed, then opened; the picture changes colors) a different purpose. Like I have a mission, or that there's something I need to complete. (Computer-made water) And then it goes back to water (Woman with head above water) again. (Hands playing with pen) Well, I guess, (Drops making ripples) it's just that strange things have been happening (Hands with pen) to me lately. What, do I want them to stop? (Drops making ripples) I don't know.
Silenthttp://lg15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=User_talk:Silent&diff=27130User talk:Silent2007-03-09T00:54:33Z
Silent: Thanks :D

Bree: (From Me For Daniel) I'm going to do the ceremony.

Bree, it is refreshing to see that you have chosen to complete this ceremony.

However, we have a suggestion.

Don't trade Daniel.

Have him stay.

He could use some structure and direction in his life.

Daniel: (From Miss Me?. Written across the screen in a column 'JUNIOR COLLEGE - just sign up and start! - Gas 'N Class - GAS 'N EATS - good food good grub!' with 'CLASS 'N GAS' scrolling across the screen) You know, I know I've only gone to community college. Last job I had was at a gas station.

Failing to complete even the registration process at a junior college, his future does not seem bright.

Working in such a large, established organization far exceeds the expectations of his career at the Gas 'n Eats.

We assume Daniel would receive many benefits such as three square meals a day, the opportunity to pursue video editing as well as having his gas needs satisfied.

Daniel: (From Miss Me?. Written across the screen is 'I want to join the Order.', then 'I hope they let me in) You know what, I'm gonna, I'm gonna try to join the Order. I hope they let me in. I really like what they're about.

Well, you won't go very far with those communication skills, young man.

This organization is a large professional entity comprised of highly skilled and educated people.

It is not a suburban posse of pseudo-delinquets who toss around the latest in 1990s street slang.

Brush up on your grammer. Lose the soul patch and goatee. Get a letter of recommendation or something.

In addition, young Jonas could benefit from some needed structure in his life. Why waste one's life away padding around in a mansion with a fleet of autos?

(A picture of Jonas)

One with such dapper good-looks and musical skill certainly could provide much to the organization in question.

And while we're on the subject...

Take that bowling-bar-hopping young female stranger with you.

(A picture of the girl)

God only knows how she has been wasting her life since we have last seen her.

We are sure it won't be long before she ends up on television

on an episode of America's Most Wanted or on some scandalous reality television show of scantily clad sexy singles.

In conclusion, we applaud the efforts of your peer Bree to make a worthy decision.

Really, Bree. We're talking about an hour or two of your time walking and turning in a field in exchange for a bright future for you and your friends. Kudos.

And class, I have been to the class notebook, and I have seen your speculation about my time away at the TiKO compound.

A do appreciate your care and concern, however, in the eloquently expressive words of young Daniel:
Ms. Kelly: (An old elevator is going down) Hi, Cedric, this is Rose, I just got back from the seminar and I just wanted to check in with you. I'll probably be around later this evening or early tomorrow, I'm just going to spend some time with (The images changes to a blurry picture of a woman) Philip and my girls. And I haven't checked any (The screen reads: Always remember) work or messages at school, but I'm sure (A man looks back and forth) you would get a handle on (A pulley turns and a bar lowers) things while I was gone. But I did see your lesson, (The screen reads: how amazing life can be.) those were quite diverse pieces of art, (Several pictures of a woman's head, her eyes sometimes open and sometimes half-open, flash on the screen for a short time) I'm sure the class enjoyed them. Well my next step is to do some final assessments, get the graduation certificates ready (The elevator again) probably by the weekend. (The camera is pointing at the top of the elevator from above) And they're a great class. Oh, and get in touch (Clip returns to inside the elevator) with me because I can't seem to figure out the password (The screen reads: Always realize) to the class notebook to see what you were up to while I was away, (The elevator again) I don't want to take too much time from home, (A man starts to walk down a hallway) but I do have some great ideas (An image from above of a man running and a spotlight following him) to share with you, the seminar really helped open my eyes. (Screen reads: that one must make the right choices) Philip says hello, (Returns to the man running) and I'm going to tie up some loose ends and I'll talk to you soon! Bye. (The man runs out of the range of the spotlight)

HSA acknowledges

(In TiKO script) TiKO FOUNDATION

for the significant contributions to our program and the world

(Revolving Earth picture, caption: HSA: Lessons Continue)

Although Ms. Kelly is currently occupied, I know that she would want her students to continue their lessons. Therefore, let us eagerly more forward together...

Art Appreciation:

A lesson in critical viewing

with Professor Boone

Students, on the assignment page of HSA, you will find a gallery of nine images to analyze. These images reflect ideas that you have been examining in your recent coursework.

To get you started, I have included only three of the images in this lesson. The images are a diverse collection, so keep an open mind as you view the gallery and my examples here.

FIRST EXAMPLE

This piece by Loren D. Adams from his series Accelerated Evolution II offers much insight into an artist's research.

(A picture of various colors in swirling designs)

SECOND EXAMPLE

This painting, "The Mosque of Delhi..." by an unknown figure shows how an artist's delicate brush can turn solid stone and a rigid Iron Pillar into a supple and soothing vision for the viewer.

(A picture of a structure consisting mostly of pillars)

THIRD EXAMPLE

This striking image is a symbol from the well-known, secret club of Yale University men. Although many of the participants of this fraternity have been well-documented, the creator of this elusive image is unknown.

(A skull and bones with the number 322 underneath)

Now that you have previewed the images, view all nine to consider what you see and what the pieces can tell us. Apply your findings to our current work when you bring it. I'll be waiting for you.

In the words of Ms. Kelly, still at the funding seminar:

Study up, students!

And as for your peer Bree...

We can only imagine Ms. Kelly's reaction to the "convenient," coed, overnight venture into yet another unseemly motor lodge.

Without a doubt, Ms. Kelly would have addressed Bree's coy willingness to slip off that pretty pink sweater, get down to that thin, form-fitting tank top,

eagerly slide right under the dank covers of that bed-built-for-two in a jam-packed motel and all too quickly begin to dismantle the Great Wall of Jonas.

I imagine that Ms. Kelly would be quite pleased and proud of Jonas for choosing the bathtub over the temptation of the bed.

(However, I do question whether or not the sleeping arrangements changed when the restroom confessional was completed...)

However, Ms. Kelly is not available, so I will keep us focused on the work at hand.

On Planning for One's Future

Students, we have recently heard from your peer Bree regarding her current situation.

Indeed, we are concerned and alarmed.

We cannot believe what we heard.

Bree: (From Time To Grow Up) The goal for today is to figure out what I want to do with my life.

Planning a career now?

At this time?

At her age, Bree should have already chosen a career path.

We have known for some time that planning ahead is not one of her strengths.

For such a bright and gifted young woman, she has much to offer.

Support is always necessary when approaching a vocation.

In light of the passing of her dear father, her grief and lack of direction are certainly understandable.

She needs to seek support.

(A clip of two people grasping hands)

She can continue to live in the house of sin and disorder witnessing the inane antics of the foul-mouthed foosball brothers.

(Clip of Daniel playing Foosball from Foosball Battle)

Although sweet Jonas cannot be blamed for his tragic life, and Daniel cannot be blamed for his unstructure upbringing.

Or Bree could choose to run away again without the means to support herself financially, emotionally or intellectually.

(Clip of Bree leaning forward in the library chair from Time To Grow Up)

There is yet another choice.

She can always seek the support and caring embrace

of her mother.

With such a successful, connected and well-respected mother, Bree could find many doors open to her.

Her intellectual prowess is no accident, we imagine.

Bree should be aware that, although a recent tragedy demonstrated that life is not always how it seems,

sometimes the most obvious situations reveal themselves to be exactly how we view them to be.

Think about it.

Is it time to go home, Bree?

Is your mother waiting for you?

(Clip of two people grasping hands)

Please consider our recent lessons.

Assess your current situation.

Plan for the future.

Use the part of your brain that contains the most potential.

(An image of a brain turns, then an x-ray is taken of it)

Take action.

(Revolving Earth picture, caption: HSA: Personal Saftey)

Events in the life of Bree and her coherts continually allow us to provide our students with meaningful life-lessons.

In this lesson, we will reexamine the results of decision-making especially in the lives of teens.

Scientific research shows that the final stages of human brain growth occur in the frontal lobe.

(An image of a brain turns, then what seems to be an x-ray is taken of the brain?)

This is the part of the brain dedicated to impulse-control and decision-making.

Because physiologically, young people just aren't finished growing yet, we do not scorn them for their underdeveloped brains.

Therefore, these lessons are not to chastise, but instead to help foster personal growth.

Will we focus on the drunken exploits of Daniel, messed up from a night of copious and rather sloppy under-age drinking?

(A clip of a drunken Jonas scratching his butt from Truth or Dare)

No. Although we do have a good mind to call that saloon-disguised-as-a-bowling-alley and give them a piece of our minds

for the way their staff seemed to excel serving intoxicating beverages with such an alarming lack of discretion and concern.

Will we discuss bringing home random, yet delightful and unthreatening young women from bowling bar rooms?

No. And will we state how we support neither unsanctioned gambling nor inviting home unknown, yet charismatic female strangers?

(A clip of Jonas, Bree, and the girl playing poker from Truth or Dare)

We will do no such thing.

However, we would like to address the actions of this mysterious, young woman

who helpfully addressed the needs of a staggering and incoherent Beast. Therefore, we offer the following out of concern:

Pretty, young stranger, you should know by now that cavorting with certain young men can put you at risk.

(A clip of the girl helping Daniel back to the car from Truth or Dare)

Especially if one is a drunken stranger.

And most especially if is said drunken stranger gets into a car containing yet another male stranger with a video camera.

Although one of the young men was too inebriated to do much but collapse into alcohol-induced unconsciousness

and the other was our dear Jonas, who soberly drove into the night (again without a hat) to save his newest chum.

Pretty, young stranger, you did not know these young men when you put your life into their hands by entering that automobile.

Horrible things have befallen countless young women who were too trusting of strangers with video cameras.

Once alcohol and moving vehicles are added to the mix, the probability of unspeakable circumstances rises significantly.

(A picture of the girl)

So pretty, young stranger, consider yourself lucky that you crossed paths with the three young people you did.

Although we at HSA disapprove of the current lifestyle and impulsive escapades of our trio of mansion-dwellers

and their permissive attitudes toward order, structure, interpersonal relationships and internet privacy issues.

We do have some smiling praise for their most recent behavior.

Drunken and depressed Daniel should be commended for not attempting to drive himself home in his wretched state.

(A picture of Daniel with the words 'Good job!' written across the screen)

(A certificate with a ribbon that states 'Good Decision!' and a picture of a smiling female face on it)

In addition to getting Daniel home, Jonas should be commended for allowing, yet another one of his cars to be left behind.

(A picture of Jonas with the words 'Good job!' written across the screen)

(A certificate with a ribbon that states 'Good Decision!' and a picture of a smiling female face on it)

We commend Bree for not involving herself in the potentially damaging portion of the suggestive "sport" that is Truth or Dare.

(A picture of Bree with the words 'Good job!' written across the screen)

(A certificate with a ribbon that states 'Good Decision!' and a picture of a smiling female face on it)

(Imagine all the indiscriminate, clumsy flesh-touching and inept tongue-kissing that has come from this game throughout time?)

(Clip of Bree making a face and turning away from the camera from Truth or Dare)

As for you, pretty, young stranger, use discretion when you venture out.

(Picture of the girl with the words 'Exercise caution!')

Perhaps instead of evenings speant cruising the bowling alley, looking for hapless and unfamiliar people with whom to socialize,

you should begin planning your future. Have you even considered a career path? There are so many option for a gal like you.

Explore your talents, set goals and be willing to take chances in life.

Who knows, perhaps once you figure out where your interests lie, you could be as successful as the likes of such people as:

Whitney Houston, Congressman Brad Sherman, playwright Michael Albanese and even Walter 'Hank' Garland.

It is never to early to start thinking about one's future.
Lessons from Bree:

Multiple Choice Quiz

Choose the correct answer.

(A picture of Jonas, with 'Jonas' written across the screen)

1. We are most shocked by Jonas's recent behavior

a. for his continual use of foul language

b. for his aversion to structure

c. for going out at night without a warm hat

Answer: (c. no hat) We have become accustomed to Jonas's gutter-mouth and lack of structure at this point.

We are appalled that he chose to put his health at risk by going out into the cold night without a hat. Body heat easily escapes from the head.

(A picture of Daniel, with 'Daniel' written across the screen)

2. We are disappointed with Daniel's most recent behavior

a. because he was cooking with pine nuts

b. because he kicked Jonas out of his own house

c. because he broadcasted their "hook up" without Bree's knowledge

Answer: (b) In light of his recent behavior, we have some idea as to how Daniel received the nickname "Beast,"

so we aren't surprised by his Internet hi-jinx.

As it so happens, we view Daniel as a rather sophisticated chef, so we are most impressed with his recent menu choice. Well done!

However, kicking Jonas out seems a bit overboard. We are not sure what kind of night he had planned which would have involved every room of Jonas's large house (and frankly, we'd rather not know).

At least, Daniel could have allowed Jonas to sit tight in the library and watch the season premiere of American Idol or something to that effect. The injustice!

Final Question

(A picture of Bree, with 'Bree' written across the screen)

3. We feel for Bree because

a. her life is in shambles

b. Daniel served her pine nuts without asking if she had acquired the taste for these pungent delicacies

c. Jonas did not wear a hat on his excursion to the cinema

Answer: (c) We feel for Bree because after having gone through so much, she is now at risk of contacting the head cold to which Jonas willfully and potentially exposed himself.

On top of the turmoil and grief in her life, Bree does not need to be bedridden with a nasty head cold.

Hopefully, you chose the correct answers.

Hopefully, these questions allowed all of us to remember how important it is to be considerate of others.

Hopefully, Daniel's epicurean creativity will inspire you to diversify your menu selections.
(Jonas, Bree, and Daniel are in the car, driving down a road)

Daniel: Does anyone else have déjà vu?

Jonas: Yeah, I know. I do, but I think it's not safe for us to stay in one place so we should just keep moving.

Bree: Jonas. Jonas. I'm sorry, okay? I know--I saw the symbol and I overreacted and I shouldn't have. I'm sorry.

Jonas: Beast, did you hear something? I swear, I swear I just heard like this high-pitched, whiney... screachy thing. You didn't hear-- no, you didn't hear that? Okay.

Bree: Jonas, I said I was sorry like fifty times. I'm sorry.

Jonas: You know what, Daniel? Beast, it's really good to just hang out with you, you know, me and you, bro time. Three's kind of a crowd, anyway, you know what I'm saying?

Bree: Daniel, since I don't exist, apparently, will you please tell your oafish friend that I'm sorry and where are we going?

Jonas: Oh my God, Dan--did you hear--I swear I just heard it and I think I heard someone saying "oafish." (Switch to the car not moving) So we had to stop because Daniel's imaginary friend had to get an imaginary coffee.

Daniel: Dude, you got to give it a rest. She says she's sorry.

Jonas: Sorry, who?

Daniel: Whatever. Hey, check this out. (Daniel focuses on a paper titled "The Order in the Modern Empire by R.J.W." There are a list of intials in the right bottom corner of the page) It's pretty detailed. Your dad was really on to something. It makes sense that they adopted that symbol, being critical to the Order and all. It's associated with textual criticism and identifying and removing errors from text. Jonas, where are we going?

Jonas: We are going to my Aunt's house. I think that a lot of my parents financial information and, and all the stuff about the foundation they set up is up there, somewhere, and it's safe... for now.

(Daniel, Jonas and Bree are in front of Jonas' aunt's house)

Daniel: Are you sure she's cool with us just stopping by?

Jonas: Yeah, I'm sure, she's away on business right now anyway. I think she's in Italy somewhere. (Switches to over by the fence) Alright, so the hidden key appears to be well hidden. I think I'm just going to hop the fence.

Bree: No, you can't br-, you're not going to break in, Jonas! What if they have, like, a security system or the police come or something? (Jonas gives Bree a look then jumps over the fence and starts walking to the back of the house) Jonas- stop! Jonas! I can't believe he broke in, he's gonna set off the alarm.

Jonas: (Jonas walks out through the front door) Wee-ooo, wee-ooo, wee-ooo! Hmm, I think it's all good. (Bree walks past him into the house.)

HomeSchoolers Aggregate Online voices its disappointment

A reminder that we are seldom mistaken

We knew it was only a matter of time before this situation got out of hand.

Therefore, let us not fall into the easiest, most predictable roles that we possibly can.

Young women, it does no one any good to send those mixed-messages: those "no means yes" messages that only hurt in the long run.

Bree: (From Hiding In The Bathroom) And I thought that they might give me some space-

Space, eh?

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

Daniel: (From Bree And I Hooked Up) Then she just kissed me.

Wipe that smirk off your face, young man.

Daniel: (From Bree And I Hooked Up) It's really just been something I think we've both wanted for awhile.

We were unaware that a goal for your peer Bree and her Beast was to broadcast their "hook up" across the world wide web.

Bree: (From Hiding In The Bathroom) The bathroom is pretty much the only place I can get some privacy.

Well, you're certainly not getting any privacy with your business spread through the wonders of technology.

Which brings us to our next suggestion for the young men in the world.

No matter how much you think a gal's dream in life is to have you discuss your "walk of shame" with countless strangers,

we guarantee that this did not cross her mind as she was "seeking your space."

And please realize that if one posts items on the internet, it is difficult to hide this information (as we already know).

We remember sneaking out, "the ceremony", the Order of Gecko, breaking and entering, visiting movies while on the run.

Among other "secrets."

We at HSA feel as if these young people need order and they need it quickly.

We are so disappointed for so many reasons that we have nothing more to say.

Peer Interaction: Part Two

It has come to our attention that some individuals feel that HSA has been insensitive and overly critical of your peer Bree.

To explain our point of view, we have designed this training video with a dual purpose in mind:

1. To demonstrate our support and empathy for a girl caught up in an unseemly and tumultuous cycle of turmoil and distress.

2. To demonstrate to our students the importance of structure, self-discipline and morality.

We share our lessons out of concern and care with the understanding that no one can force a person to change.

Therefore, we must provide this lesson with the intention of offering growth to those who seek it.

Morality

We have voiced our concerns about ill-advised, unsupervised fraternization of the genders.

When young people consort without any parameters whatsoever, it is only a matter of time until temptation becomes reality.

Unbefitting topics can arise. Unruly situations can transpire. Inappropriate touching may occur.

(Clip from Skateboarding of Jonas giving Bree a hand up after she's fallen)

Where could it lead?

Jonas: (Clip from Foosball) So, um, Beastie. I've got a question for you my man...

Daniel: What's that dude?

Jonas: How was the kiss?

Daniel: Oh, no way man, I'm not talking about that.

Jonas: Oh c'mon! Alright at least tell me, is Bree a good kisser or what?

Daniel: (From Purple Monkey Returns, in P-Monkey voice) C'mon, baby, I'll sing you a song. C'mon, it's P-Monkey, c'mon-

Talk of kissing, rating girls' performances and smooth-talking monkey business...

If these situations continue to occur, it is only a matter of time before lurid acts become the order of the day.

This is no way to prepare for adulthood.

It is no way to grieve for a non-biological, yet custodial parent,

who has recently explained that what one had viewed as reality was not real at all.

This is no way to focus on understanding one's situation and finding ways to remedy one's circumstances.

We point this out in a most generous manner, hoping to help those who might not have the energy or guidance to help themselves.

However this is just our opinion.

Others may see things differently.

We respect all points-of-view

except the wrong ones.
Students, you will be expected to share your ideas with your peers.

However, always remember that communication consists of two basic, yet vital, elements:

output and input.

Output is the conveying of your ideas, so others can consider your point of view and your thoughtful concepts.

The second part of worthwhile discourse is input, which is, simply, earnestly listening to and truly considering others' ideas.

At times, listening to others can be the most difficult part of all.

At times, we can be so invested in our own ideas, so adamant about our views and unwilling to accept change

that we can miss what others are telling us, even if their ideas could save us from pain, sorrow and frustration.

Let's view a few examples put together just for this exercise:

Gemma: (From Learning Egyptian) It's more like a secret society. It's not a religion after all.

Bree: (From from Zodiac of Denderah) So, usually, I don't like to talk about my religion.

Gemma: (From Learning Egyptian) It's not a religion after all.

Bree: (From My Difficult Decision) I've been religious my whole life...

Gemma: (From Learning Egyptian) It's not a religion after all.

Now, let us view another example:

Bree: (From My Difficult Decision) I don't think that I'll ever talk to Daniel again.

Daniel: (From Purple Monkey Returns) So, you're not going to talk to me.

Bree: (From My Difficult Decision) I don't think that I'll ever talk to Daniel again.

Daniel: (From Purple Monkey Returns) How can Bree not want to talk about what has happened?

Bree: (From My Difficult Decision) I don't think that I'll ever talk to Daniel again.

From these examples, we can see the necessity of input and output.

So many difficulties can be avoided by uilizing proper communication skills.

Imparting our ideas is the easy part. Listening, however, can be a most difficult prospect.

Students, we will need to share and listen this term to maximize the benefits of working together toward personal growth.

Do you see the importance of listening?

Lesson One

(Two Greek masks revolve, one happy, one sad)

What is the purpose of tragedy?

Do catastrophes help us grow?

Does pain offer us more than just the ability to feel?

Is drama most compelling when it happens to others,

(A man and a woman, yell at each other, gesturing with their hands)

and we sit confortably watching, uninvolved?

Is human compassion stronger than self-preservation, self-serving behavior or some inate survival instinct?

Consider kindness.

Do people really ever give without expecting to receive?

Why can't joy be our only emotion, generousity be our only instinct and empathy be our pulse?

Or are they?

(A woman and a small child stand on a beach. The child runs to the woman, who catches the child and lifts her up to hug her.)

Humanity evolves, develops, emerges.

We are geniuses.

(A bomb explouds, sending up a cloud of dust)

with the ability to treat illness, conclude peace and direct technology.

We are so powerful,

and yet, so powerless.

Students, together let us explore compassion in our world of winning greed, voyeuristic indifference, unthinkable pain,

which is how it can seem sometimes.

On Wednesday (1/10), I will present your first assignment. Professor Boone will guide you to the password, so you can bring it.

All will become clear then.

Why does humanity exist?

(A clip of a person waving a candle on a dock while another person wades through the shallow water)

Why is the world the way it is?

(Revolving Earth picture)

Why is there something rather than nothing?

(A clock with the second hand moving around)

Answer: Because it is so.

(A revolving, glowing blue circle)

Answer: Because it seems so.

What if those answers do not suffice, and only lead to new questions?

Like...

What is consciousness?

Do human beings truly possess free will?

(The Assumption of the Virgin by Francesco Botticini)

What makes someone beautiful?

(Zooming out from a fingerprint, then DNA strand)

It ends on January 10th.

(Hands type at a keyboard, the colors changing)

There are always more questions?

Like...

What is good and what is evil?

(Two men walk towards each other in front of a large window and shake hands, the colors changing)

Why do we possess the ability to hurt others?

Why do we use this ability?

Preview Lesson

Term 1/2007:

Ringing in the New Year with Lessons from Bree

Our objective is to learn valuable life lessons from the actions of others.

We always learn best by viewing examples. Let's begin...

The situation: Wanting to meet secretly with one's father after being separated for some time is a worthy pursuit.

As is wanting this clandestine meeting to go as planned.

As a rule, secret meetings work best when not held at charming cafes on busy thoroughfares.

(Clip of Bree and her father talking from The Unthinkable Happened)

What have we learned from this?

When planning a secret meeting, resolve to actually meet in a secret location. This will probably allow for the most secrecy.

The situation: Avoiding danger in parking garages.

First of all, a parking garage is no place for a young lady to be spending her New Year's Eve.

There are far more appropriate places to ring in the New Year such as at a supervised dance at a local teen center,

at an inter-generational family party or at one of the many alcohol-free First Night Celebrations (check your local listings).

What have we learned?

Always plan ahead. Trouble and conflict follow those who do not take the time to prepare.

Perhaps if your peer Bree actually put the effort into making suitable arrangements for New Year's Eve,

she could have been spending her afternoon painting her nails fuschia in anticipation of a wonderfully wholesome celebration.

Instead she was nearly run down in a parking garage skirmish involving yet another situation ending in a desperate escape.

(Clip of Bree and her father walking in the garage, then of Bree & co. running back to the car from The Unthinkable Happened)

Luckily, her two foul-mouthed friends

(Repeated clips of Daniel and Jonas saying 'shit', all from The Unthinkable Happened)

rose to the occasion in heroic fashion.

What have we learned?

If danger is following you, ask your heroic friends ahead of time to accompany you to a clandestine meeting

especially if you know they are going to follow you anyway.

Why force them to go on a convoluted quest of intrigue that involves clue-finding, code-breaking, and calls to dry-cleaners?

Shucks, one could just as easily wander down the hall and give a person a heads up before snatching car keys and credit cards.

And instead of jacking your new friend's car, just ask if all of you could ride together in one automobile.

This is sensible and would definitely save an hour or so (especially for those who could use the extra time to flee from peril).

This will decrease the chance of having to commit various felonious acts against you generous and striking new friend,

plus this opens up the possibility of using the special carpool lane in the case of any high-speed freeway car chases

(which is probably a good idea to keep in mind for those constantly escaping from danger).

To summarize:

1. plan well

2. review the idea of secrecy

3. don't commit easily traceable crimes

4. share a ride

And watch the language, gentlemen.

And let us wish Bree well.

(A picture of a bookshelf with five books and a bundle of letters)

Students,

This term we began with the goal of exploring technology and art to see where they connect.

Along the way, we began to converge, buildng and growing from one another.

We explored ways in which art can be dependent on technology.

We examined ways in which technology can hinder art.

We have viewed amazing examples of art and technology working together beautifully.

You have created your own pieces of art and shared them with each other.

(Several screenshots of responses pages, side-by-side)

We applied our work to the mission of living thoughtful, structured and orderly lives.

We analyzed a chain of events caused by disobedience.

(Screenshot of the Lessons from Bree page)

We viewed what happens when the balance between good and evil is broken.

(The clip of a rose unfurling and crumpling into itself)

We watched with excitement when decisions were finally made and action finally taken.
And I watched you.

For your graduation, you deserve praise.

Some friends and well-wishers have offered their words of wisdom, some sound advice and their support for you.

Pay attention, students.

Their words are valuable.

It's a world in which you've already ridden Tolstoy's sad train of Ms. Kelly, sailed down the Mississippi with Huck and Jim, and, of course, solved mysteries with Nancy Drew. (A line across the center of the screen reads: Andrea is home studying, of course.) I applaud you for this great undertaking you've accomplished, and though this journey is over, I want to encourage you to never forget the world of education. It's a world in which you've already ridden Tolstoy's sad train of Ms. Kelly, sailed down the Mississippi with Huck and Jim, and, of course, solved mysteries with Nancy Drew. As your wonderful teacher has already told you, graduation is an ending, but also a beginning. Never let it be an end to your education.
What to Expect in 2007

1. Focus for First Term

In 2007, we will continue to provide educational enrichment for those students wishing to explore the deeper meanings in life.

(What appears to be a DNA strand rotates)

We believe a life without appropriate values is a dangerous life, indeed.

(The clip of four people in front of a blue fountain)

Our term focus will include examining morality and ethics to better understand the balance and interdependence of good and evil.

2. Lessons from Bree

(Screenshot of Lessons from Bree page)

Students, we will continue our unit focused on your peer Bree.

We will explore her on-going saga as she shamelessly continues to share her most private turmoil with all the world.

Side note:

Currently, Bree is living, unsupervised, in a house with TWO young men.

Rumors of alcohol use, blood rituals, people arriving at all hours of the night and egg nog consumption outside of yuletime

certainly should leave us concerned, woeful and most definitely alarmed.

We only hope that she is able to resolve her issues before her moniker changes from lonelygirl15 to Lonelygirl Gone Wild.

Students, all we can do is watch in horror, hope for the best and learn from these unfortunate circumstances.

In addition, education is a continual process involving structure and consistency.

Thumbing through old issues of National Geographic Magazine

(which, as some of you might know, is infamous for its images of topless indigenous women)

does not make for a necessarily demanding and rigorous educational curriculum.

But we digress...

3. Always remember:

We remind students that rules and structure form a solid foundation on which one can build a satisfying life.

(A picture of trees with a white sky)

4. Final Announcements:

Visit HSA on Graduation Day, 12/29/06, to view our exhibition of amazing and thoughtful student work.

(Several screenshots of responses pages, side-by-side

We anticipate a most exciting graduation ceremony.

You are invited to share in this special occasion marking the accomplishments of our bright and curious students.

(A lit candle and unlit candle are put together, lighting the unlit candle.)

At HSA, the only mission is to help our students grow.
