 ::I think he's referring to the breech. The upper, "cuboid" part of the gun slides back when the weapon is fired, creating an opening through which the empty bullet case is ejected. The Watcher is putting his index finger right over the opening, which is not only simply ''wrong'', but would also lead to ugly self-injury should he pull the trigger, because the moving "slide" would cut off parts of his finger; in addition, the hot bullet case would likely be ejected into his palm (and we're talking coming-right-out-of-an-explosion-hot here).
 ::Basically, he's holding a pistol like a push dagger. I think you can see how that might be a problem ;)
