Transcript

(Emma is sitting in front of a blank white wall.)

Emma: Hey, guys. Emma here reporting from another undisclosed location. What else is new, right? Right. By the way, Daniel, I hope if you find Sarah that you don't throw out your back, dragging her to your cave by her hair. Sorry, Daniel, that came out really mean. I don't even know why I said that. It's just living on the run yet again really tends to take its toll on a girl's nerves, you know? I mean, I know there's a good reason, and there's always a good reason. But Jonas said I'm not allowed to blog. But while the cat's away--or is it the mouse? Anyway, I figure, really, what could hurt? Right? I mean, there are no clues here. Nothing but a plain, white wall. There are no clouds, or rivers, or lakes, or shopping malls, or anything normal that I could be spending my time--nothing but a plain, white wall. On top of all that, my parents put up an online APB for me, by the way. Take a look.

(Cut to The Whartons crying in front of their house.)

Raymond: If anybody has seen this girl (holds up a picture of Emma for the camera), she's our little girl. Okay, her name is Emma. And her mother and father miss her very much. And we're very worried about her. So Emma, if you're out there and you can see this, okay, baby, come home. Okay, we miss you.

(Cut back to Emma.)

Emma: It's funny how I had to use a fake name to go to school, but they could post my real name on the Internet.

(Cut back to Emma's parents.)

Mrs. Wharton: And we really, really love you. Please come home. Please.

(Cut back to Emma.)

Emma: You love me so much that you were giving me injections that would have killed me. Thanks, but, um, I think I'd rather stay underground. Dr. Hart says that I need to stay positive. He's the one bright spot that I have right now. Yesterday, he brought me these pastry thingies called fatman or something, I don't know. He said that it means "poor man's cookies", and they come from some Scandinavian bakery. He promised he was gonna bring me some more today. I don't even know where he and Jonas are or what they're doing because nobody tells me anything. For my own good, of course. I just wish, for once, that somebody will let me decide for myself what is good for me. Because it's sure not sitting in front of a white wall all day. They just tell me that it'll all be over soon. Whatever it is, this big plan, apparently it's going to go down tomorrow. And Dr. Hart says that after that I will be able to live my life like a normal person. We all will. I can't wait (smiles).

Notes

  • The cookies Emma is referring to are "fattigmann" cookies from Norway.
  • According to Emma's last statement, some specific event is taking place the day after the video is filmed. This is supposed to be something big enough to allow Emma to henceforth live a normal life. It is possible that this unknown event is anticipated to seriously cripple the Lullaby Project and/or Verdus.
  • Despite Emma’s assurance that her video contains no clues as to her location, her mention of a Scandinavian bakery could give away their location. There is a well known Scandinavian bakery in Bishop, California and the entire community of Solvang, California is well known for its Scandinavian roots.
