Bree: I was really depressed when I got out of bed this morning. I'm filming alone again today because Daniel and I still aren't talking. Daniel's my only friend other than my stuffed animals and let's just say; not speaking to your only friend really sucks. I guess this whole putting personal videos up on the internet thing, wasn't such a good idea. I read some of your guys' comments and that really cheered me up. A lot of you think that Daniel and I should reconcile. I completely agree with you. So I've decided to make a peace offering, but not just any peace offering, I'm gonna do my research first.

Okay, so this is interesting the Kaqchikelo Indians from Central America used to burn a monkey as a peace offering. (cut to Purple Monkey, who shakes back and forth "No", then back to Bree) Okay, that's not gonna work.

Okay, so when the pilgrims first came to the new world, they made a peace offering of sorts to the Native Americans. They made a huge feast and everyone was invited. (cut to Purple Monkey, who nods "Yes" and waves, then back to Bree) So that's it, Daniel. P-Monkey and I will cook you a great big feast and then everything will be back to normal.

On second thoughts, I'm a really lousy cook, (cut to holding up Purple Monkey and covering her ears) and I don't know how much help our primate friend would be. (cut to holding up a twig with leaves on it) Will an olive branch do?

Notes

  • Like many of the odd facts quoted in the video series, nobody has found supporting evidence for Bree's "monkey as peace offering" factoid. It's not clear which tribe she is referring to, if indeed it is a real one.
  • Monkeys are not native to the Americas.
