Transcript

(Charlie pulls on the handbrake in her car. She and Julia are in the car sitting outside of Lauren's flat.)

Julia: Honey, I told you we'd be here too early.

Charlie: Yeah. Thanks for that, smartass.

Julia: Uh, I don't have to be here.

Charlie: Yeah, it's not like you've got anyone else to hang around with. Imaginary boyfriend out of town again, is he?

Julia: Alright, rub it in.

(Charlie laughs. Cut to a shot of Lauren's front door.)

Julia: Can we go in, please?

Charlie: Yeah, I suppose we should, but I really don't want to piss her off. She's kind of volatile. (Charlie's phone rings. She picks it up and answers it.) Hello? Hello? Hell-Hello? Oh, far out. Again. (Steve and Terrence appear outside of the car, approaching Lauren's flat.) I don't even know how many times I've been getting these missed calls now. It's really starting to do my head in.

Julia: Charlie...

Charlie: What?

Julia: Charlie.

Charlie: What?

Julia: Isn't that Terrence and Steve?

(Charlie looks outside.)

Charlie: What the hell are they doing here? Come- (Grabs her things and starts to get out of the car.) Come on.

(Julia and Charlie get out of the car and head across the street toward Steve and Terrence.)

Charlie: Oi!

(Steve is seen near a window.)

Steve: Charlie. Hi.

Charlie: What the hell do you think you're doing here?

Steve: Um... Nothing, we were just- Um... We're looking out for her, okay?

Charlie: What, by spying on her?

Steve: No, it's not like that. We just want to make sure that- Well, you know. She's-

Charlie: No, it's not helping. She's coming to the clinic with me today, and if she comes outside and sees you two psychos she's gonna run a mile!

Steve: Hey. Now, come on, Charlie, that's not fair.

Charlie: And I bet it's you who's been giving me those prank phone calls, too, isn't it?

Steve: What are you talking about?

Charlie: Don't play all innocent with me, Bible boy!

Terrence: Why don't we all just calm down?

Charlie: Oh, and you shut it! I mean, what's going on here? Did you forget everything he did to us?

Steve: No, but he's not like that anymore.

Charlie: Oh, really?

Steve: He's heard his song now.

Charlie: What, the theme tune to The Omen?

Steve: Charlie. Please.

Charlie: Look, I don't believe for a second that this slime bag's changed his colors.

Lauren: Oi! (Cut to Lauren coming out of her flat carrying a cricket bat.) What the fuck is this?

Charlie: I didn't know that they were gonna be here.

Lauren: What, you think you can act all matey and concerned around me and then let these two paedos come and kidnap me?

Charlie: No, look, I honestly didn't know that they were gonna be here, okay?

Lauren: Whatever, you bitch! (Swings the cricket bat at Charlie.)

Steve: Wh-whoah, whoah!

Lauren: Now piss off!

Julia: What are you doing?

Charlie: Look, we're here to help you!

Steve: Please. You're in danger. Okay?

Lauren: I'm in danger? No. You're the one in danger! Now do one! (Swings the cricket bat at Steve.)

Steve: Alright, alright!

Lauren: NOW!

Steve: OKay. Alright! (Lauren throws the cricket bat at them.) Oi! Whoah, whoah!

(Steve and Terrence leave.)

Lauren: I'm calling the feds. (Dials her mobile.)

Charlie: Look, okay? We're going. We're going! But if you saw that specialist, you will have the illness.

Lauren: It's ringing.

Charlie: Fine, I'm going. (Heads back to the car.) Jules?

Notes

  • Lauren's swinging at the others with a bat is reminiscent of Kate's violence with a frying pan.
