Bill Cowan, Julia's father, is seen giving Julia away in Julia & Rupert. He objects very vocally to Julia's joining the Hymn of One.

In Her Indoors, Julia said that she wanted to wait for Bill to come back before she leaves for France, but Rupert takes her anyway. It is still unknown why Bill was gone, or where he was during this time. He was most likely on vacation, or a business trip.
