Bree's bedroom

Appearances

Most of the early Lonelygirl15 videos take place in Bree's bedroom and hence it provides a fertile hunting ground for clues as to the plot of Lonelygirl15. On this page we will describe the room, catalogue its contents and discuss their relevance to the plot. This location is of course the home of Bree's stuffed animals.

Overall

Bree's bedroom has a single door near the corner opposite her computer desk. Her bed and a floor lamp are to the right of the door, with a painting by Edward Hopper above the bed. To the left of the door, is a bookshelf with a shrine to Aleister Crowley on top.

The bookshelf

It would be very useful to know what books are present on the bookshelf, but this has not been determined. In most of the early videos, the bottom shelf was either empty or contained a single book, but in later videos, it became cluttered.

The box

A lot of discussion focused on a box on top of Bree's bookcase. The box first appears in the video Zodiac of Denderah in place of the picture of the three boys, and is closed. After the ceremony the box is open. Then, in I Talked To My Parents, the box is gone and the picture has returned.

The Aleister Crowley shrine

Above the bookshelf there is what appears to be a shrine to Aleister Crowley. The shrine is composed of a picture of Aleister Crowley and a set of candles. Aleister Crowley was the founder of the occultist religion of Thelema.

The Edward Hopper painting

On the back wall of Bree's bedroom is a well-known painting by artist Edward Hopper entitled, "Second Story." Hopper is an American painter whose most common theme was solitude in American life.

Bree's bedroom in Wired Magazine Article

A December 2006 article in Wired magazine gives us our best view of the side of Bree's bedroom that we have never seen on camera. The set of Bree's bedroom was Mesh Flinders' actual apartment bedroom.

Bree's House

In Back At Bree's, Daniel returns to Bree's abandoned house and shows us our first (and thus far only) view of the rest of Bree's house.

Area surrounding Bree's house

The video Learning To Drive appears to start out close to Bree's house where Daniel picks her up, and ends at a loading dock of a warehouse.
