Transcript

(Several sped-up clips of an urban area are shown as people walk by. The camera focuses on Jonas as he walks in the background. A computerized voice with a British accent talks over the footage.)

Voice: I found you. That means they can find you, too. (Jonas walks into a building. Cut to footage of Jonas walking on a beach.} You go about your business as though nothing happened. As though you were free. None of us are free. No one who's touched them can be.

(Jonas looks behind his back and walks into a convenience store)

There. You know it too, don't you? (Cut to the camera approaching Jonas from inside of a bag.) Stop running; stop hiding.

They make fun of you - the community, your friends - (Quotes from community members roll across the screen as more shots of Jonas walking in crowds are shown.) all of them mocking you for being the one who always gets captured. Constantly lured into unwinnable situations. It's hard, isn't it? All of the people watching, laughing, criticizing. Judging you incompetent.

(The voice echoes as Jonas walks up a flight of stairs into a building. Cut to the camera slowly ascending a flight of stairs.)

I'm not laughing. I'm applauding. You fight when all hope is lost. (The camera zooms in as Jonas walks down a hallway.) You rise to the challenge when the challenge can not be conquered. You are a hero; a leader. Now start acting like it. You are the key, Jonas. They will not let you just slink away to some ordinary life. I will not let you slink away either.

(The camera pans to the door's handle. A phone is heard ringing on the other side of the door.)

Jonas: Dammit, Sarah, stop calling me!

(A slam is heard as Jonas throws the phone, breaking it. Cut to Jonas sitting near a window.)

Voice: They will not stop. They shall not. Please, Jonas. There is no time left. In just over a week, the auction will begin. (An asterisk and the text "www.crowleycollection.com" appears.) The book will be sold and more girls will die. I know that you know this. I know that it eats you up inside. I know that you will do the right thing.

(Fade to black.)
