Jennie: (walking outside; sighs) I just had to get out of the house. It just--The tension. It's been (draws breath) unbearable since Jonas freaking lost it yesterday. I mean, I think he would have killed Carl if we hadn't been there. You know, he wants to protect us, but he doesn't see what he's becoming. And, you know, I try to talk to him, to figure out how to...just...be us again. He's obsessed with fighting the Order.

(under a tree's shade, sitting next to a chess table with white pieces set up.)

Jennie: (placing black pieces) Look, as much as I despise Carl, he doesn't deserve an execution. So, we decided to conduct our own version of due process. Four to one decided to turn him in to the police. And, I mean, given the evidence against him and Sacred Spirit, he's looking at twelve to twenty-five years, so...

Jennie:You know what's strange though? The look on Carl's face when we dropped him off. Honestly. I think he'd preferred to be tied up in our garage then go to the police. So, now that Carl's been dealt with, we should feel better, right? Well, we don't. He still managed to get to us. And Carl implied that one of us can't be trusted. How did he know that Jonas keeps P. Monkey in a box under his bed. I didn't know. (stop motion clip of chess pieces being set up) I won't believe that one of us is a mole. I have a hypothesis on why Carl's trying to turn us against each other.

(black and white clip of chess pieces being played)

Jennie: Back when I was at Cal, I took a history class on the Cold War. I remember this tactic that the CIA used against the Russians. They would plant rumors and leak misinformation about intelligence. Misinformation that would cause the opposing side to believe there was a mole in their midst. The point was to tear them apart from the inside. Dissent through paranoia.

(walking away)

Jennie: I think Carl and the Order are taking a page out of this play book. Who knows? Maybe they invented the page. I won't let them do this. I'm not going to let the Order destroy our friendship. I'm going to go home and convince everyone we need to get back on track. I mean, Salinas, Carl; they are finished, done. We did that together. If one of us was a mole we couldn't have done those things. I say, we stop looking at each other and start figuring out who the next target is. Question is who. Carruthers, Lucy, Emma's watcher... Leave me a message on my Snapvine account. Let me know what you think. We need a common goal here. You can help us figure out what that is.
