Eat Pie is the three-hundred fifty-fifth video in the lonelygirl15 video series. It is also the ninety-ninth video of season two.

Transcript

(The video opens with a shot of Emma's feet on her pillow. Her toenails are painted green.)

Emma: Name the place the pilgrims first planted their feet when they arrived in America. (Cut to a full view of Emma's bed. Music begins to play in the background.) Did you guess Plymouth Rock? The answer is "the pilgrims first landed in a small sea-side village known today as Provincetown". (Nods and laughs.) I thought Plymouth Rock. (Cut to Emma laying in her bed.) So I started going to a new school this week. And my first day there, we had a pop quiz about pilgrims coming to America. (Razzes the camera and rolls over in bed.) It does feel okay being back at school and out of the house. But the one kind of strange thing is that my parents registered me under a new name. Can't tell you what it is, though, 'cause it's top secret! Not until the serum works and I'm trait negative. I just don't really feel great that I'm lying to everybody about who I am. (Sits up in bed.) On top of all that stuff, I am still not feeling a hundred percent. I'd say I'm, like, seventy to seventy-five percent. And now I have a horrible rash. (Lifts her shirt up to expose her right side and pans the camera to look at the rash.) See? It's a butterfly rash. (Laughs.) Gross, right? (Brings the camera back up to her face.) Eww! Even so, my parents felt that it might help me feel better if I get back into a regular routine, and I guess it helped a little. (Rubs her forehead and wipes her nose.)

(Scene cuts to Emma coloring with a Crayola marker in fast forward.)

Emma: Even though we are technically in hiding, (Holds up a picture of a turkey. Cut back to Emma sitting in her room.) my parents are doing their best to make today a special family day. (Holds up a picture of a stick figure, which is supposed to be a Native American. It reads "Hello Pilgrim." She then cuts it out.) My mom is, like, running around like crazy to make this "classic New England Thanksgiving dinner" (Holds up a picture of a female pilgrim that says "That's Hot" and "Hey y'all".) that I think she got from, like, Martha Stewart Living or something. (Cuts out the female pilgrim and gives a thumbs-up. Cut to Emma wearing a pilgrim hat, making a weird face at the camera. Cut back to Emma making an angry face with a fist at the camera, and then laughing.)

Emma's Thanksgiving "play":

Native American: Welcome to The New World! Also known as "Our Land". Today's menu begins with a lovely turkey... (The turkey picture runs across the screen while Emma gobbles.) A delicious quince glaze, a side order of potato gratin with some Havarti cheese, and créme fraîche.

Male Pilgrim: (With a Southern accent.) Mmmm! Créme fraîche! Well, that just sounds delicious, my Native American friend! My wife and I brought along some peas, some turnips with bacon, some cranberry sauce, dried apricots and _____.

Female Pilgrim: (With a Southern accent.) (Giggles.) That's hot! But did anybody remember to bring the pumpkin meringue pie?

Male Pilgrim: Honey, were we supposed to bring some pumpkin meringue pie?

Emma: The end. Thank you! (Blows kisses at the camera.) Thank you. No, thank you! (Cut back to a closeup of Emma.) Yep, my mom is making all of that. This is her way of saying "let's get back to being a regular family". And my dad just walks around smiling all the time, pretending like everything's great. I just can't stop thinking about Jonas today. And Daniel, and Sarah, too. I just, I really wish they could all be with us. Happy Thanksgiving. (Emma puts the pilgrim hat on her head.)

Notes

  • Early speculation among fans stated that Emma's rash was possibly a sign of Lupus (An autoimmune disease). But her rash is on her left abdomen, not on her face, which is the classic location of the Malar/"Butterfly" Lupus rash. On the face, the rash crosses the bridge of the nose, where it narrows and appears on both cheeks.
  • Emma wears a cap
  • This is the first time we see more of Emma's family hideout, as opposed to a green screen.
  • Emma mentions she is lying about her name, just like Kate has.
  • Katherine Pawlak (the actress who plays Emma) drew all of the artwork in this video.
