Foosball Battle is the one-hundred twenty-first video in the lonelygirl15 video series. It was posted in response to Time To Grow Up. Daniel and Jonas play yet another game, and talk about their situation.

Transcript

(Fade from black to white, with a swell of music. It then fades to a time-lapse sequence of Daniel and Jonas playing foosball, as the William Tell Overture begins to play. Fade to black, then cut to a fast-motion montage of their game. After a while, the music stops abruptly, and we hear the sound of a point being scored. We see Daniel's face, and he disappointedly looks down at the table.)

Jonas: Aw, don't let that-- Don't let that make you sad, though...

Daniel: (laughs) Shut up.

Jonas: ...'cause I think you're gettin' better. I really do.

Daniel: Yeah right, dude, I'm still not good enough to beat you.

Jonas: What are you talking about? You beat me the other day.

Daniel: Y-yeah, um... you let me win?

Jonas: No, I... didn't, y-- well, yeah, I did. I kinda did.

Daniel: Yeah, you did.

Jonas: But, you know, you were bummed out, and I thought you needed a little...

Daniel: Whatever, I got this on ya!

Jonas: ...needed a little break.

(Cut to Daniel, as the foosball noise dies down)

Jonas: All right, dude, what do you think about a little reconciliation with "the Breester?"

Daniel: No. Hell, no.

Jonas: (mocking him) "No, hell n--"

Daniel: No!

Jonas: Come---

Daniel: We just need time to ourselves, y'know?

Jonas: Man! Come on. I don't believe you.

Daniel: Seriously, you don't believe me?

Jonas: No, are you--

Daniel: I'm being honest.

Jonas: Okay, are you telling me if she were to bust into this door right now, jump into your arms, and say, "Daniel, let's prove science wrong for the rest of our lives!," (Daniel grins and chuckles) you'd be like, "Nah, sorry baby, you already had your turn on the D-train."

Daniel: (laughs) "D-train." (Jonas laughs) Uh, maybe not quite like that, but... uh, yeah.

(Cut to Jonas singing and playing his guitar, improvising a song, which Daniel is laughing at throughout.)

Jonas: I once lured these people to my house / I told them I wanted to help them / What I was doing... / Kidnapping! Oh, yes! / Secretly workin' for the Order! Ok, I'm done.

(Cut to later, same location)

Jonas: You know what, man? Where-- I haven't seen Bree all day. Where the hell is she?

Daniel: She's in her room, man. She doesn't want us to talk to her. She wants to be left alone.

Jonas: Ooh, you're in trouble. (Daniel chuckles) It's hard to believe that there's these girls out there who're being raised by people who aren't their real parents.

Daniel: (mumbling) I don't know.

Jonas: It doesn't make any sense, ya know?

Daniel: Yeah. Bree said it had something to do with the ceremony, but honestly, I don't think she even knows.

Jonas: Well, I'll tell you this. (plucks a low note) It's creepy.

Notes

  • Jonas's improvised song consists of a single chord, Am7. From the sound of his technique, it's clear that he's not a brilliant player.
  • The recording of Rossini's William Tell Overture that we hear is a MIDI, or synthesized, version. This is arguably one of the most recognizable pieces used thus far for the LG15 Soundtrack. Its use in this episode may be an homage to a scene in Stanley Kubrick´s film, "A Clockwork Orange."
