Transcript

(Gavin is standing outside of Charlie's office building. He films the building from the street.)

Gavin: We are the only animals on this planet that know that at some stage we are going to die. And yet we're also the only animals on this planet, armed with this knowledge, that still go to work.

(Gavin turns the camera on himself and starts walking toward the building.)

Gavin: Well, screw that! And, what do you do when the company that you're supposed to be working for is for it? Hmm? The place you're supposed to give all your blood, sweat, and tears for, all going down the crapper. Do you stay at your desk and fulfill your contractual obligations? (Goes inside. Cut to Gavin in the elevator.) Or do you treat yourself to a nice, long three-hour lunch with your ex?

(Cut to Gavin inside Charlie's office. He walks up to the secretary.)

Gavin: Uh, hi. Um, Gavin? Here to see Charlie? Is she around?

Secretary: Um... (Looks through papers on her desk.) Yeah, yeah. She's just- The media centre around the corner?

Gavin: Oh, thanks. (Turns the camera on himself as he walks to the media centre.) And, yes, I'm aware I'm using a JustIncredible camera to show the fact that I'm not doing any work, but... call it irony.

(Gavin arrives at the Media Centre and goes in. Cut to Charlie on a laptop inside. The TV nearby makes a chiming sound as the news comes on and Charlie looks up. Gavin zooms in on the TV. Cut to Charlie watching intently. Cut back to the TV.)

Reporter: Detectives investigating the disappearance of eight London girls are still trying to establish a link between them. (Cut to Charlie watching and then back to the TV.) All the girls have gone missing since the nineteenth of January. Police admit they have no leads on a suspect or any useful CCTV footage. Two eye witnesses have described a man in a black suit with sharp features who was seen with two of the girls. (Charlie looks concernedly at Gavin.) More on that now, with our reporter-

(Charlie turns off the TV and begins typing on the laptop.)

Gavin: Wow! Kudos! (Picks up a print out of a page regarding the fourth girl missing from the Telegraph.) Or as the Americans say (fakes a whiney American accent.) "Kudos"! (Laughs.) You're a work dodger-extraordinaire!

Charlie: Gav, you didn't get my message?

Gavin: We could swap tips over dessert. (Laughs.) What message?

Charlie: I'm really sorry, but I'm kind of really sewed under at the moment.

Gavin: Well, yeah, I know, but are you ready to make a four day week into a three-and-a-half day week? (Laughs.)

Charlie: No, look, I- I can't do this right now. I've really got to get through this. (Puts on her headphones.)

Gavin: Okay, well- I'll see you at the date tomorrow, then, shall I?

Charlie: (Looks at Gavin and pulls up an ear of her headphones.) huh? (Goes back to typing.)

Gavin: The... office party tomorrow? See you then?

Charlie: Catch up another time?

Gavin: Yeah, o-okay. I'm worried about you, that's all. (Heads to the door.) 'Kay... H-Happy Easter.

(Cut to Charlie engrossed in her work on the laptop.)
