Transcript

Taylor: So I got back home a few days ago, and I still haven't heard from Jack. At first I was worried, but then I read what dreamtoact, BDM, and a bunch of other people had written on the website. It all got me thinking. I- I don't consider myself to be that gullible of a person, but I never actually saw Jack jump.

So, anyway, I went back to the forum, and found out that chershaytoute had cracked Jack's voicemail code. Jack left a bunch of references to pancakes on his MySpace and YouTube, and... left a bunch of lame messages on other people's myspace pages about flipping pancakes. So chershaytoute flipped the pancakes and cracked the code. Turns out that "pancakes" spelled backwards, numerically, is 7352262. So you enter that in, and voilá.

Jack's Voicemail: My name's Roland. I know who you are, and I know what you are. Tell me, how'd you last this long, huh? Who's helping you? Who's protecting you? Answer my questions! Don't run.

Taylor: Hmm. Now, wasn't that Sam Jackson's voice on the message? And, wait, isn't he playing a paladin in a movie coming out this month called "Jumper"? Jack, Jack, Jack. Okay, I know I'm not exactly clued in to pop culture, but for you to be that obsessed with Jumper? Coming out to Texas, disrupting my life...

You're either completely nuts, or you know that this movie's gonna kick some serious ass. And, look, if that's it, I kind of get it. After the first Star Wars was re-released, I'm not gonna tell you how many months after I dressed up as, um, Obi Wan Kenobi. (Laughs nervously.)

So Jack, while I'm still completely confused by what happened, I promise that if I do see you again, I'll leave you with at least, uh, nine fingers. Toodloo.

Notes

  • Jack's voice mail is very obviously made of spliced audio segments from Jumper. Not only does the tone, pitch, and volume of Samuel L. Jackson's voice change over the course of the message, but a girl can be heard screaming in one segment.
