It's Hymn! is the one-hundred sixty-third webisode in the KateModern video series. It is also the eighth video of season two.

Transcript

Sophie: Hey. So, my trip to see Charlie didn't exactly go as planned, and now I'm more confused than ever. Gav's out of prison, and apparently the Order shot down the whole case.

Speaking of the Order... I can't stop thinking about that Hymn of One logo at the scene. I mean, did someone do it to try and implicate them? Or... did Kate draw it to show that they were involved? Or... I've heard people saying that it might have been, like, a ritualistic killing. Oh, it's so horrible; the whole thing just gives me the creeps! But I've got to find out more.

I'm gonna go to the Hymn of One headquarters and see if I can find out some more information.

(Shots of Sophie walking are shown, and she finally ends at the Hymn of One London Centre.)

Sophie: Well, this is the place. I found one of their flyers. (Gets out a flyer and shows it in front of the camera.) It says there's a meeting here today, starting at half-five. So I'm gonna try and have a look around before it starts and then... maybe hang around for the meeting. (Heads toward the stairs.)

Steve: I don't think that's a good idea. (Appears in front of Sophie.)

Sophie: Steve! Jesus, you scared me!

Steve: Tend not to use the "J" word around here, if you don't mind?

Sophie: Oh, yeah. Of course; sorry. What are you doing here? I thought you'd been arrested?

Steve: Yeah, I had. But now I've been released. That's what happens when you get arrested despite there being no evidence against you. And there's no evidence against me because I had absolutely nothing to do with it. They just-... They questioned me for a bit, and they- they had to let me go.

Sophie: Oh. Right. I mean, I didn't really think you could do something like that. I-

Steve: Of course I couldn't. My god, as if this isn't hard enough as it is!

Sophie: I know. I'm sorry. Look, Steve, I'm just trying to find out what happened. Why do you think there was a Hymn of One symbol at the scene?

Steve: I don't know! Look, I- I'm just- I just want to put a few really savage weeks behind me and go to a meeting, okay?

(Steve walks toward the stairs and then stops and turns back to Sophie.)

Steve: If you really want answers, then maybe you would do just as well to come inside. Find out yourself.

(Steve walks inside.)

Sophie: Think he might be right about that.

Notes

  • Sophie and Steve are wearing caps.
  • The title is a pun of the words him and hymn.
  • Half-five means 5:30, or half an hour past five o'clock.
  • Steve tells Sophie to avoid the "J" word (Jesus) around the HoO. This either means that the HoO doesn't like when other religions are spoken of or they are offended by the word itself.
