Transcript

(Jonas is sitting in an airplane next to the window on take-off.)

Stewardess: For your own safety, please keep your seatbelt fastened throughout the flight.

(Cut to Jonas watching outside as they rush down the runway. The plane leaves the ground and Jonas looks at the camera. Cut to Jonas watching the city lights as the plane angles upward. Cut to Jonas watching out of the window at the clouds during the daytime. He closes the window cover and turns the camera on himself.)

Jonas: Hey. So I'm on my way to London. Bad food, worse weather... (Laughs.) You know the place. I don't really know what I'm getting myself into here. It's just- I just gotta see this thing through. I don't even know if I can really trust this Steve. I-I don't know. He seems like a good guy. Right?

(Cut to Jonas walking around the London International Airport. An announcement can be heard in French as Jonas turns the camera on himself.)

Jonas: (Sighs.) Just got here. I don't really know how I'm gonna find Steve. There's a lot of people here.

(Jonas wanders aimlessly around the airport. He turns the camera on himself and laughs.)

Jonas: Wait a minute... I think I might see him.

(Cut to Steve standing in the crowd, holding a carboard sign reading "YOUR NAME IS JONAS". Jonas walks over and laughs.)

Steve: Hey!

Jonas: Steve?

Steve: Yeah! I told you.

Jonas: Hey, man. How are you doing, man?

Steve: Very well. How's it going?

Jonas: Good. Good. Good to see you.

Steve: Yeah. Good flight?

Jonas: Yeah. You know, good flight, good flight. I- I, uh... (Looks at the sign.) I like your sign.

Steve: Thank you.

Jonas: It's nice.

Steve: I- I made it myself.

Jonas: Oh, yeah? Y- (Laughs.) You don't say. You made that yourself.

Steve: (Laughs.) Yeah.

Jonas: So listen, uh where're you parked? Where's your car? You wanna get outta here?

Steve: Uh, yeah. Nowhere. Um, I thought we'd get the train? I'm not much of a driver. Not in London, anyways.

Jonas: Oh. Yeah, right. As, uh... (Turns the camera on himself.) As long as you know where you're going.

Steve: Yeah! I, uh, got you a tube map, just in case you, uh, get lost.

Jonas: Wow. (Takes the map from Steve.) Nice.

Steve: You can keep it, 'cause I got one for me as well.

Jonas: Okay. Sure.

Steve: Excellent. Should we, uh, should we do it?

Jonas: Yeah. Yeah, let's go. (Steve leads Jonas through the airport.) London, huh?

Steve: No, I know.

(Jonas turns the camera on himself and back at Steve as he laughs. Cut to Jonas following Steve up a flight of escalators. Jonas smiles at the camera as he nears the top.)

Jonas: Wow.

(Cut to Steve leading Jonas through Waterloo Station.)

Steve: So I thought we could, uh, go for a walk down by the river. There's great views there.

Jonas: Yeah, that'd be great, man. (Cut to Jonas spotting a Burger King in the station.) Oh, you've got Burger King. Nice.

(Cut to the two leaving the station and crossing the street. Cut to a bus stopping nearby. Cut to Steve pointing to The London Eye and Big Ben. He leads the way under an overpass to Jubilee Gardens. Jonas takes several shots of the scenery as he follows Steve.)

(Cut to a street musician playing on pots. Steve dances to the music and Jonas laughs at the camera. Jonas drops a tip into the musician's bucket and he thanks him. Cut to a couple of skateboarders skating under a bridge. Jonas turns the camera on himself.)

Jonas: Man, I should have brought my board. (Jonas watches as the skaters do a few stunts.) Just between you and me, I think the skating's a little better in the US. (Cut to Jonas following behind Steve.) Steve! Do you skate?

Steve: Yeah, I used to roller skate when I was a kid.

Jonas: Oh. Yeah.

Steve: Actually, I'm quite a good ice skater. Quite nimble on my feet.

Jonas: (Turns the camera on himself.) Nimble? (Cut to Jonas following Steve near the Thames.) Wow. I-I can't get over this. It's so beautiful. (Pans to The London Eye.) Look at that. (Cut to Big Ben.) I gotta say, though, Big Ben looks a lot bigger on TV. Listen, man, I'm getting kind of hungry. Think that maybe we could grab some food?

Steve: Yeah, sure, man, that's cool.

Jonas: Let's go.

(Jonas zooms in on Big Ben as they walk along. Cut to Jonas placing the camera on a table as he sits down.)

Jonas: Look at this. It's so beautiful here. I wish you guys at home could be here. Steve seems pretty nice; he offered to buy me a sandwich, so that's pretty-

Steve: Here you go. Here you go.

(Steve walks over and hands Jonas a sandwich.)

Jonas: Oh, thank you. Thank you. (Steve sits down next to Jonas.) Alright, cheers.

Steve: Cheers.

(Both Steve and Jonas take a bite of their meals.)

Jonas: Mmm, mmm. That's good!

Steve: Yep.

Jonas: What'd you get?

Steve: Um, tomato and mozzarella salad.

Jonas: (Mocking Steve's accent.) "Tomato"?

Steve: Yeah, that's right, tomato.

Jonas: Didn't you mean, uh, "tomato"?

Steve: No, I meant "tomato". Don't forget who invented the language. (Takes another bite of his salad.)

Jonas: (Laughs.) Yeah, but you also invented soccer and... you're not too good at that anymore.

Steve: Whoah, whoah; hang on. We did not invent soccer.

Jonas: (Looks confused.) No...

Steve: We invented football. (Takes another bite of his salad.)

Jonas: You mean the little girl's game where you guys kick around a little white ball?

Steve: Yeah.

Jonas: That, my friend, is not football. (Takes a bite of his sandwich.)

Steve: (Laughs.) Okay. Our football is a game where you actually go to kick a ball? With your feet? Your football... you pretty much use your hands all the time. I mean, what's that about? (Jonas laughs.) Was handball already used for something else?

Jonas: (Laughs.) Okay. Okay, there you go. See, you just proved you don't know what you're talking about. Sorry. (Laughs with Steve.) Alright, alright. Forget it. What about "banana"? How do you, uh... (Steve laughs.) No, no, no, don't even- don't even. Don't even go there.

Steve: Spotted dick?

Jonas: (Looks confused.) Uh... what?

Steve: (Laughs.) Spotted dick. It's our, um, our dessert. (Holds a plate of spotted dick in front of the camera.)

Jonas: (Laughs.) Spotted-! Spotted dick.

Steve: Spotted dick.

Jonas: No thank you. I, uh, didn't come to England for- for any dick. (Steve laughs.) But, uh...

Steve: We, uh... While we're here, though, while we're messing around outside, are we actually gonna get down to business?

Jonas: Absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, that's what I came here for.

Steve: Okay.

Jonas: So let's do it.

Steve: Let's rock the casbah, man.

(Jonas knuckle bumps Steve.)

Notes

  • Jonas asking Steve to "Say Banana" may have been inspired by conversations in the old LG15 voice chat.
  • This is the first video to be included within the canon of both series.
  • This is the first time a main KateModern character has physically appeared in a lonelygirl15 video and vice versa.
  • This video was posted by Jonas on the lonelygirl15 YouTube account, as well as by Steve on Bebo.
  • Steve's sign is a reference to Jonas's first vlog My Name Is Jonas, which in itself is a reference to the Weezer song "My Name is Jonas."
