Lee For Hire is the two-hundred fifty-fourth webisode in the KateModern video series. It is also the ninety-ninth video of season two.

Transcript

(The camera zooms out from a dumpster to Lee leaning on it.)

Lee: Hi. I'm Lee Phillips. You might recognize me as the face of JustIncredible.TV. Due to porter-trade-- restrictions at present, I'm looking for a move away from the nurturing bosom of that particular venture. I tried to write a CV, but I soon realized you just can't fit me onto two sides of A4. So, without further ado, and for your viewing pleasure, here it is: the Lee Phillips video CV!

(Cut to Lee running and exercising on Primrose Hill.)

As you can see, I like to stay in shape. And right now, I'm shaping up to transform your organization.

(Lee winks at the camera. Cut to Lee watching Arma-goo-den on his laptop in the living room.)

My nationwide TV profile means I'm perfectly suited to corporate entertainment.

(Cut to Lee having a fake lunch in the dinette with Lauren.)

Cheers!

(Cut to Lee back on the couch in the living room.)

I'm also developing quite a reputation as an after dinner speaker.

(Cut to Lee sitting at the dinette in a tuxedo.)

And so I said to her, "I don't know, I only came to read the meter!"

(Lee laughs along with several people off-camera. He looks slyly at the camera. Cut to Lee standing at a signboard on Primrose Hill. The camera pans behind him, showing him overlooking a stormy London. Several clips are shown of him looking contemplative.)

But I haven't always been a famous TV personality. (Lee jumps into a tree in a reversed clip.) I cut my teeth launching an exciting IT startup company.

(Lee gives the camera a thumbs-up. Cut to clips of Gavin, Tariq, and Lee in their office.)

It wasn't easy working with two demanding young technology entrepreneurs... (Cut to Lee writing underneath a tree.) But my hard work and diligence paid off, and eventually I obtained sole distribution rights to an innovative new software format.

(Cut to Lee sitting on the couch in the living room over his laptop.)

Every time the world of work is thrown a challenge at Lee Phillips, he's looked it square in the eye and said "Let's dance!"

(Cut to Lee exercising in the park.)

Lee Phillips: (Cut to Lee typing on his laptop.) Hardworking. (Cut to Lee running in the park.) Fighting fit. (A star swipe cuts to Lee in The Road to Manchester.) Famous!

(Cut to Lee in Arma-goo-den and Nuts and Needles. Cut to Lee running exercising. Cut to Lee outside of Job Centre Plus.)

So, if you are interested, please don't hesitate to get in touch. But be quick, because I'm already active in the job market and you don't wanna miss out!

(Lee winks at the camera. He looks confused and winks again. Cut to Lee's Bebo address.)

Notes

  • In the UK, a CV is equivalent to a résumé.
  • Lee performs the "Crane Kick", an exercise made famous by (and created for) the film The Karate Kid.
  • This video could be a pop-culture reference to the video "Impossible is Nothing" by Aleksey Vayner, a résumé video that included a staged interview and Vayner performing a series of strength-related feats (like benching 495 lbs and karate-chopping 7 bricks) and playing sports like tennis and skiing.
