Living In London is a video response to I Lied To Daniel, and a followup to Nut Kills Man. Gemma tells the story of how her mother met Bree's mother.

Transcript

Gemma: Hi, so...I didn't know what to talk about today...um...I thought I'd talk a little bit more about living in London. Suppose the thing that gets to me or spooks me are the sounds of sirens. Police or ambulance sirens. It's the telling people that someone is hurt, or worse. In the community, Bree, we used to ring the bell--you remember, right?--um, to alert people if something had happened. Ah, but mostly London is a nice change. Um...very diverse. In fact, I had Thai for the very first time the other night, and...I can't say I really liked it for sure. It's a little salty, really. But I'm glad I've eaten it, I feel very cosmopolitan. Whereas in my old life, well...you know how that was. Before I forget, Bree, um...I never told you that my mum really looks up to yours. Your mum ever tell you how they met? At university in Edinburgh? It was a philosophy class, a rudimentary one, very basic...and at one point, David Hume, a atheist philosopher, came up as required as he is an alumnus of the university. Well, apparently, um...your mum got very heated at one point and stood up and declared that any bloke whose business it was to thwart the rights of an individual should be put down to sleep...like a dog. I guess this silenced the professor. My mum says after the class, she ran to compliment your mum on her brazenness, and...your mom complimented mine on her frock. And I guess they were friends from then on since! I just thought you should know that...know that she is still, um, deeply respected by my mum. Still a pillar in the community. Anyway, cheers for now.

Notes

  • Most viewers of this video assumed that Gemma meant David Hume spoke at the class. Which is odd as he died in 1776. She probably meant he simply came up in the discussion.
  • This is the first video for which Vanessa Roveto receives a credit.
  • This is the second video in which Bree's mother is said to intensely defend her belief in Free will
