Lying Bastards is the one-hundred sixty-sixth video in the lonelygirl15 video series. Daniel, Jonas, and Bree follow Alex all the way to Mexico.

Transcript

(Jeux Interdits (Romance) by Narciso Yepes plays and footage of the highway, other cars, etc. is seen.)

Daniel: (sitting in the passenger seat with Bree visible in the back seat) We followed Alex down here, she's been staying in that house over there. We're trying to figure out what to do: I mean, we're not sure what she's doing but... she's been holed up in there for a while. Other than that though, I kind of like Mexico. I mean it's nice, the people are cool, they're very warm and...

Jonas: (laughing) Yeah... you like Mexico because you can legally drink, lush. I know you.

Daniel: No, I like it because I like it... He's acting like it's a prob--

Jonas: Congratulations!

Daniel: What do you mean congrat...

Jonas: Well, it's 9:30 in the morning dude, I just... that's a feat, that's a major feat.

Daniel: Whatever, dude.

Jonas : Listen, Mamasitas lock up your daughters, okay, 'cause the Beast here is south of the border, and, uh, not for nothing dude, you put the ho in Mexico.

(Daniel laughs in a "that was so wrong" snicker.)

Bree: There's no "ho" in Mexico.

(The music abruptly stops. Both boys look at her and then at each other. After a moment of awkward silence, the music resumes playing.)

Bree: (She laughs and shrugs.) There's no "ho" in Mexico.

(Daniel looks at the camera in a "Bree doesn't get what we are talking about" way.)

(Cut to Daniel standing in the street.)

Daniel: Wow, big surprise. After talking all that trash, Jonas decides to take Bree into town. Why? He thinks she should try a fish taco. What do I do, though? That's right, I do something useful. I'm going to break into Alex's house. (laughs) It's all I know how to do really, I guess.

(After much scaling of walls and sneaking around on balconies Daniel films Alex on the phone.)

Alex: Yes, they called me. No, because--I do care because it's a violation of free will and you know... I know my principles, do you want me to recite them for you? I didn't know you were going to do anything... It's horribly upsetting, all right, I don't like lying. (She cuts a lime in half.) It goes against... because he's my nephew!... Okay.

(Alex hangs up the phone, puts her head into her hands and appears to be crying.)

Notes

  • The writers may or may not have realized that "eating a fish taco" is a euphemism for oral sex (cunnilingus).
  • This is the first video in which the four-letter word "bastard" is used in the series, and is used as the video's title, no less.
  • One of the places Bree, Jonas and Daniel passed in the car was the San Diego California (Mormon) Temple. (http://www.lds.org/temples/main/0,11204,1912-1-81-0,00.html)
  • In the video Bree's hair is shown dyed noticeably lighter then her previous video.
