Ananda: Hello again fellow art lovers. It's good to see you. You know, inspiration can come from some of the most unexpected sources. For example, Last night I had a really weird dream. It was so vivid. I woke up and my arms were crossed like this (crosses her arms in the shape of an X). I sat up and I was in this strange room filled with tons of stuff. I got up and went out the door, and I was in Egypt. At least, I think I was, there were a bunch of people in Egyptian robes. Anyway, the dream kept changing. I was so many different people in so many different places. It all seemed so real. I woke up, and all I've been able to think about today was this dream, especially Egypt. (Artwork appears on the screen) I made this piece of art to help me process what I was thinking, to help me kind of get it out of my system. (Cut back to Ananda) I did some research on Egyptian gods, and I was fascinated by this god, Assur. He started out as the Egyptian god of Shepherds and farmers, and then, as time passed, he became the god of resurrection. Listen to this: His symbol was the crook and flail, crossed (crosses arms in the shape of an X) in the shape of an X. That's where the tradition of crossing the arms of the dead comes from. A sort of an invocation to Assur. For resurrection. I don't know how I feel about reincarnation or resurrection, but I do know life can take on new meaning. So many times in my life I've felt lost, out of sync, like I was missing something. But then, then I talked to my mentors, and my life takes on a whole new meaning. I feel at piece and I know my place. As of right now, I don't think I'm ever going to look at the letter X the same again. Bye.
