Last week, Gina and I were getting ready for prom, and she told me a story about some trip she and Dr. Hart took. And they stayed at some place near a lake. And uh, she wasn't allowed to go near it because she didn't know how to swim. Anyway, she um, snuck out late one night, when everybody was asleep. She just wanted to dip her toes in the water, she said. And as she sat down in the dock, she was, you know, reaching her fingers in, and she just completely lost her grip. She lost her grip. And fell in. She said that uh, that first, she um, started to panic, and uh, started flailing her arms around. But obviously that didn't help any. So she took a deep breath and gathered all of her strength and just kept her body still 'til she was able to rise to the surface and float back to the dock and climb back to safety. That sort of strength is pretty rare. And I'm not going to second guess anything we did. I can't. I'm just gonna gather my strength, take a deep breath, and survive. Emma: The journey from Big Bear to where I met my parents cost sixty-three dollars and eighty-five cents. (Shot of Emma playing her guitar in front of a tree.) After Porter died and we took Gina in, we all just pretty much just locked ourselves up in that cabin. That was such a mess. You know, I just could not handle knowing they were going to come after me, after all of us. And nobody even saw what I was going through. Except for Gina. She came in my room one night and didn't even say a word. She just simply handed me $63.85. I know it's not a lot of money, but it was one of the nicest things anybody has ever done for me. (Shot of Emma playing guitar in front of the tree again.) You know, what if I hadn't taken the money? What if I'd just been strong enough to deal with my emotions and not run away? What if I'd been a little bit more like Gina?

Well, you guys will be happy to know that Sarah's back at the house with us. She showed up randomly with some strange explaination of where she's been and what's happened to her. But whatever, that's her story to tell. You know, we're all grieving in our own way, but we definitely all agree on one thing, and that is Salinas is not going to get away with any of this. I'm really sorry, Gina. I'm really sorry we just couldn't do more for you. We're really going to miss you.

(Singing)
It's so very hard to be
Full of strength and apathy,
But I'm so sick of crying
And tired of people dying.
And I can't seem to move on easily
'Cause I'm filled with fear.
There's no going back from here.
I'll never forget your wayward smile.
The silly games were juvenile.
Oh how you helped me so,
More than you'll ever know.
And now I can't just let you go,
'Cause I'm filled with fear.
There's no going back from here.
