Transcript

(Charlie is following Gavin with the camera outside at night in the rain, approaching Parliament Square.)

Charlie: Babe, where are you going? Can you slow down?

Gavin: Look, this is supposed to be the place. This is where Lee put the pin in the map!

Charlie: (Sighs.) But, look, we don't even know what we're looking for.

Gavin: Well, hello? That! (Gavin gestures and the camera pans to Big Ben.)

Charlie: (Sighs.) There's no sign of Lee anywhere, babe.

Gavin: Yeah, I know. What's he playing at? Idiot.

Charlie: It's amazing.

Crowd: Hey, Gav, you alright? Lee! Hi! Hiya!

Gavin: Thanks. Have you been- been watching our vlogs and that, yeah?

Crowd: Yeah, yeah.

Gavin: Um... (Sighs.) Have you seen Lee, uh, anywhere recently?

Crowd: Yeah. Yeah, he went over there. Yeah, he went that way. Yes.

Gavin: Really?

Charlie: What'd he do?

Crowd: He just put here some stuff. He put that thing over there.

Gavin: Did he do anything?

Crowd: Yes. Yes. He left a gnome.

Charlie: What did he leave? What?

Gavin: You're joking.

(The camera whips around and spots a gnome in front of the Winston Churchill statue.)

Charlie: What's that?

(Gavin picks up the gnome by the hat and flips it over.)

Gavin: How long ago did he leave this? Did you see?

Crowd: About five minutes ago. Five minutes ago!

Gavin: Five minutes ago? What's he- he's sending us on a wild goose chase and we've got to follow- Oh, hello. (Gavin notices Tariq and Julia approaching.) Bellend alert, Holmes and Watson. Hello.

Julia: Well, what does it say?

Charlie: Hey guys.

Tariq: Hey, what did you you bring the gnome for, Gavin?

Gavin: Yeah, great deduction, Sherlock. But I didn't bring it, did I? Lee's left it for us. It's got this clue on it, or something.

Julia: A gnome with another clue?

Tariq: Yeah, let's have a look. (Tariq tries to grab the gnome from Gavin.)

Gavin: No! Get off! I found it!

Julia and Charlie: Guys!

Tariq: Can't we have a look at it? Gavin-

Julia: (Breaking up the impending fight.) Stop it! We're all working together.

Gavin: I'm not working with you ever again.

Tariq: Yeah, and I'm not working with him, either. No way!

Julia: Gav, let me read the clue. We're all working to get your software back, okay?

Charlie: Babe, please just read the clue then we can solve the riddle.

Gavin: All right. Get the camera on this then. (The camera gets a closeup on the gnome's clue on its base. In the background Big Ben begins to chime.) "You'll need your platforms tomorrow, when I hear Abba it makes me want to go. Hands that don't wave, a face that won't laugh. The time and the place is thirteen and a half."

Charlie: Well, we have to go somewhere else tomorrow.

Gavin: Yeah, well, we'll work it out first.

Tariq: No, I bet we'll work it out first.

Gavin: Yeah, whatever. Yeah, all the best.

Tariq: Yeah, good luck. Good luck.

Julia: Come on. (Julia pulls Tariq away.)

Gavin: "You'll need you platforms to"- Anybody get that?

Charlie: Good one, Gav, now they've gone.

Gavin: Yeah, well I won! Heh.

Charlie: Gav...

Gavin: Come on, we need to sort this out. We need to work it out and get going as quickly as possible, come on. Hey guys, thanks a lot, yeah?

Crowd: Yeah, no worries.

Gavin: Thank you very much.

Charlie: God's sakes, Gav!

Gavin: Come on, Charlie! (Gavin begins running away from the Square.)

Charlie: (Sighs.) Can you slow down?

Gavin: Come on! (Gavin begins reading the clue on the gnome again.) "Hands that don't wave, a face that won't laugh, the time and the place is thirteen and a half." What? What does that mean? What does that mean?

Charlie: I have no idea, Gav.

Gavin: Come on.

Charlie: You've been so hot-headed, I don't know what your problem is.

Gavin: Come on! Quick! Quick!

Notes

  • The clue on the bottom of the gnome:

You’ll need your platforms tomorrow,
When I hear Abba it makes me want to go.
Hands that don’t wave, a face that won’t laugh,
the time and the place is thirteen and a half.

  • The solution of this clue is:

Location: Waterloo Station (Waterloo is a song from ABBA and the platforms in the clue are referring to a train station)

Time: 1.30pm (the time is thirteen and a half, what means 13.30 or 1.30pm)

Where exactly: Under the four-faced clock (the line: Hands that don't wave, a face that won't laugh refers to the hands and face of a clock. There hangs a large and famous four-faced clock in the middle of the main concourse. Meeting "under the clock at Waterloo" is a traditional rendezvous.)
