Transcript

(Charlie is walking down the street toward Julia's flat. She turns the camera on herself, out of breath.)

Charlie: Look, I'm kind of on my own now, which means two things: I've got to keep uploading; whatever I do, I'll keep posting and see what I can get from here. Maybe I'll get a chance to go through it all tonight.

(Charlie opens the gate in front of Julia's flat. Cut to her knocking on the door.)

Charlie: (Yells through the mail slot.) Jules! Jules! Jules!

(Julia answers the door in a robe.)

Julia: Charlie!

Charlie: Oh, Jules, hey. Look, I'm sorry. Um, something awful's happened. It's Lauren.

Julia: Well, h-honey, you all right?

Charlie: Yeah, uh... no. Um, Steve and Terrence, they kidnapped her. They put her in the back of the car and they drove off. I need to get online; I need to use your computer.

Julia: Well- (Charlie pushes past Julia into the flat.) Charlie, hold on a minute! Honey, just wait a second!

(Charlie barges into Julia's room.)

Charlie: I need to get online, I need to get-

(Charlie looks at Julia's computer. The camera pans down to a pile of men's clothing on the floor and then pans up to find Rupert Van Helden in his underwear on Julia's bed.)

Rupert: Whoa! (Covers himself with the covers.)

Charlie: What? Rupert Van Helden? (Turns to Julia.) What the hell is he doing here?

Julia: Honey, I-I didn't know you were coming over.

Charlie: (Pans back to Rupert.) Yeah, I can see that. How long's this been going on for? What, posted a one-off appearance, is it?

(Charlie storms past Julia into the hallway.)

Julia: Charlie, it's not like that. You know, we really like each other.

Charlie: Well, when were you gonna tell me, or at least let me know?

Julia: It's meant to be a secret. I don't have to put every second of my life online!

Charlie: What is that supposed to mean?

Julia: Alright, okay, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. Please just don't put this video up?

Charlie: You don't want me to put this online? Steve has just kidnapped the one girl - the one last link to the killer - and you're worried about me putting this online? Rupert Van Winkle's a sleaze bag!

Julia: He's a sleaze bag 'cause he's going out with me? Cheers!

Charlie: Mister Motormouth doesn't practice what he preaches. Surprise, surprise! What else are you two hiding from me? Eh?

Rupert: Look, Charlie, I'm sure that there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for Steve's... his actions, okay? Now- Now, i-it might be a little bit unusual but I guess I could- I could, like, send a message to him or something. Uh, you know, try to reach out. I mean- (Sighs.) I mean, he listens to me. Or... or at least he used to.

Charlie: Whatever. Bust a nut. I don't even want to look at you, let alone trust you right now. (Walks toward the door.) I'm out of here.

(Charlie unlocks the front door and walks back to the sidewalk.)
