Bree's Parents

In the video How My Parents Met, Bree states that, "When my dad was 23 he got a fellowship to study medicine at the University of Oxford. My mom, who was two years younger, was studying in Edinburgh, which is in Scotland.

Aleister Crowley

In many of Brees videos we see a picture of Aleister Crowley on Bree's bedroom wall. Crowley was known to have strong ties to Scotland.

David Hume

In Gemma's second YouTube blog, Living In London, she tells Bree that their mothers met at a philosophy class at which David Hume was discussed.

Jimmy Page

Jimmy Page had a fascination with the poet, novelist, artist, occultist and founder of Thelema, Aleister Crowley. He bought Crowley's rural retreat, Boleskine House, which is on the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland.

Boleskine House

According to Wikipedia, "Boleskine House (boll-ESS-kin) was the estate of Aleister Crowley from 1899 to 1913. It is located on the South-Eastern shore of Loch Ness in Scotland. It was built in the late 18th century by Archibald Fraser."

According to Crowley's writings, however, he bought Boleskine to perform a magical ceremony called the Abramelin operation, an angel-summoning ritual requiring intense and lengthy meditation in a temple or secluded place. "I had picked out Boleskine for its loneliness. Lord Lovat and Mrs. Fraser-Tyler, my nearest neighbours, were eight miles away, while Grant of Glenmoriston was on the other side of Loch Ness."

Crowleys use of the word loneliness is interesting in the contect of the name Lonelygirl15.

The "Abramelin operation," as it is often called, "in reality consists of two seperate operations. The first operation, the attainment of knowledge and conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel, is the perfection and purification of the Self. It opens the path of communication between man and Divine. In the second operation the evil demons, who are sometimes considered the magician's "lower Self" or negative character traits, are conquered and commanded to do the magician's bidding by force of will and magick. This second operation would therefore fall into the category of medieval magick called goetia."
