'''Bree:''' So, Jonas taught me how to skate, with minimal scraps and bruises. It's pretty nice of him, I think. He's still out there. Skating. So Daniel, I saw your last video. I think it was a really good idea that you left your house. As for the box that you found at my parent's house, that symbol looks really familiar. I think it's the company my dad used to work for or something. I don't know a lot about what he did, because he was very secretive. He always encouraged me heavily in the sciences. I think that was why he was such a strict disciplinarian. He wanted me to be a big shot at NASA or something. I miss him. He did research for a bunch of companies. He specializes in ribozymes. I like that word. I made a joke about Newton's laws of motion today, when I fell off my skateboard. You would've laughed. Bye! (''Bree waves.'')

Transcript

(Jonas is in the library. He addresses the camera.)

Jonas: Okay, so, I have a little factoid for everybody today. I don't know if you knew this, but when somebody goes missing it actually takes a few weeks before they're classified as missing. Anyway, I was telling Bree about this last night, that is until she looked extremely bored, and then, she kind of excused herself and went to bed. I don't know, I was just trying to take her mind off of her parents. I just think that sometimes if you can just clear your head, you can see things from just a whole new perspective.

(The camera shows a skateboard outside, between two piles of cushions.)

Okay, as soon as sleepyhead wakes up, I'm gonna teach her how to skate. But, the only problem is, skateboards, they don't have training wheels, so, I had to improvise.

(The camera cuts to Bree, who is wearing a hat.)

Bree: I can't believe I got talked into this.

Jonas: Huh?

Bree: At least I have a soft landing. If I fall.

Jonas: Uhh, yeah, when-when you fall.

(cut to Bree sitting on one of the piles of cushions.)

Jonas: Well that was-- (Bree gets up, Jonas reaches his hand out.) Are you okay, that was--that was a good solid first try, really. You bruised? You okay?

Bree: No. Think I'm gonna do this myself, I think I can do it better.

(Bree puts the board down, and puts one foot on it.)

Jonas: Need a little help there?

Bree: No! (Bree pauses.) How do I start?

(Neophilia by Rebel Rebel plays, as clips of Bree and Jonas skating are shown. The music stops, and Bree is sitting on the skateboard.)

Bree: It's the skateboard's fault. What kind of lame excuse for a skateboard is this, anyway?

Jonas: That's a Powell Peralta.

Bree: Powell?

Jonas: Mm-hmm. Okay, never mind.

(Cut to Bree in the library.)

Notes

  • This is the first video in which Jonas directly interacts with other characters.
  • When Jonas tells Bree that the skateboard is a Powell Peralta, she seems to pause before she confusedly repeats, "Powell?". Bree might have just realized that her call to Powell's Dry Cleaners earlier was a puzzle.
  • According to the California Department of Justice website, "There is NO waiting period for reporting a person missing. All California police and sheriffs' departments must accept any report, including a report by telephone, of a missing person, including runaways, without delay and will give priority to the handling of the report." So Jonas seems to have his facts wrong.
