The sunglasses worn by Lucy and the Watchers may seem silly or reminiscent of They Live, but they seem significant. There is only speculation at this point as to what purpose they serve (if any), but some have suspected, based on the visual style of Communication Terminated, that the sunglasses serve as a video unit.
Other characters have worn sunglasses, such as Purple Monkey, Bree and Nikki Bower. However, it does not appear that these sunglasses are of any relation.
