My aim here is to put paint a picture of every character, cross website references, and list all relations, including actual and speculation. Am I doing something redundant currently? yes, because I just started watching. I need you all to fill in the gaps. ThanksSupasamurai 02:10, 11 December 2006 (CST)

It's good that you're trying to organize the content better, but I do think a lot of this information can probably be found off the page Canon which lists official, possibly official, and officially disavowed characters. Perhaps it would save you some work if you just added the links and website references to the Canon page... I'm not clear on what you had in mind, depending on how involved it was you might want to consider working on Canon instead. Hope that helps. OwenIsCool 09:42, 11 December 2006 (CST)
How come a:) when I asked if there was a list of all the characters with descriptions and such and maybe a picture, everyone thought that I should just be able to get it from the main page and not to worry about it, and b.) how come this stuff isn't listed on the main page, it would have been mighty helpful to me before. That's just the thing Supasamurai, this information is listed on the Main Page, in the form of a character list with links to detailed background pages for each. Please check the left column on the Main Page. I'm sorry this wasn't clear before. --Treefunk 13:04, 11 December 2006 (CST)
Compare Canon and the main page and tell me that they both do the job of listing all the characters with some blurb info and a little relational info. You can't, because one is a main page that shouldn't have info like that on it. It should have links to info like the cannon page that make figuring out the story easier for people just start out. Imagine if Wikipedia's main page was just a huge list of all the articles. Would it really be a good idea to start at lgpedia's main page to try to decipher the story? No, it wouldn't, because the stuff listed on the main page needs to be ordered into categories where the information can be made sense of. Supasamurai 19:48, 11 December 2006 (CST)
Of course, there's also The Story So Far... which we have linked to in the introductory test. But Samurai's point is important. While the organization is obvious to us veterans, it's not nearly as good as it could be for new users of the Wiki. I think, for starters, we need a redesigned front page. The page has ballooned to an unmanageable size. It's definitely information overload. I'll get us started with a page for practicing new layouts.--JayHenry 20:26, 11 December 2006 (CST)
While I agree we may be due for a revamp of the main page, I don't think anyone else has been that unhappy with. I remember it was pretty intuitive: to learn about the characters, click on their links, to read about the vids, click their links, etc. It always worked like a good jumping off point for me. I guess with so many vids now there's a lot of scrolling going on... maybe condense vids to the 10 most recent + a link to a list of all videos? And something similar for the characters? I don't tend to pipe in much on the LGpedia but I have found the main page usable only as a sort of index, a way to quickly navigate the site, but it has never really function very well as a starting point. I think it should be restructured so that it allows people to wander around the LGpedia and find stuff they had never even thought to look for. Right now it seems to function only as a way to find what you are looking for and already know the LGpedia has. Take a look at the main page of wikipedia, or perhaps more appropriately the Homestar Runner Wiki, for what I think the main page should look more like. --Terryfic 21:23, 11 December 2006 (CST)
