Talk:Christian cults

Wow why does this article exist? Whoever originally set up things to go in the religion heading sure went wild. This shouldn't be a tenative up for deletion but an IMMEDIATE deletion. TOTALLY unrelated. 71.224.243.78 14:10, 20 January 2007 (CST)

I think it'd be worthwhile to have a single article on Cults and Secret Societies. Christian Cults, Freemasons, Illuminati, etc. can each get a paragraph. And these gazillion subpages can be dumped. Sound good to anyone else?--JayHenry 14:21, 20 January 2007 (CST)
I'd support a comprehensive article like that. These subjects interest some people, so I bet they'd like to have some information about the religions and secret societies that have been part of the speculation on LG15. And that way we don't need pointless little articles like this one. OwenIsCool 14:32, 20 January 2007 (CST)
I don't support that because it's lumping secret societies in with cults...and they have nothing to do with each other. The Freemasons, Illuminati, etc. are about as far removed from a cult as you can get. Your local baptist church is probably more cultish than them. --Tannhaus 06:44, 21 January 2007 (CST)
That's a fair point, Tannhaus. But I think the point is to create a page on possible influences of Bree's The Order of Denderah which seems to be influenced by secret societies, occult religions and actual cults. If we divide the page into different sections for secret societies, occult religions and actual cults, I don't see how we're suggesting any connection other than their common influence on this element of the LG storyline. Does that seem like a reasonable compromise?--JayHenry 10:29, 21 January 2007 (CST)
I can agree with that --Tannhaus 15:03, 21 January 2007 (CST)
Sounds good, but then what are we going to title such a hodge-podge of a page? --Brucker 10:46, 22 January 2007 (CST)
Sources possibly influencing Bree's religion? --Tannhaus 12:32, 22 January 2007 (CST)
