Whether it is labeled 'tier 2' or 'tier 3' the page for this particular series should include a concise list of links to the videos, possibly with a short description and thumbnail for each.  The videos are fairly independent creations usually focusing on one character each, not so much a single narrative, so a lumped summary will not really cover them very well.  Also, linking just to the account the videos are provided on (jerrypwjr on YouTube) does not really work because they are mixed in with other videos by the same creator on that account.  Note: there is a playlist available on that account for the Dreams series which could be linked to, but a listing on the page would make it easier to find an individual video.  The lgpedia page should be as useful as possible.  ~ [[User:QtheC|QtheC]] 13:08, 10 May 2008 (CDT)

:Playlist, sure. (This can, and most likely will, be put under the External Links section.) Listing, maybe (I'm generally against any straight-out listing of videos, though.) As for pictures...Why? The dreams are chaotic, and it's not like one picture is going to give you an idea of what a particular video was about. Descriptions I'm against solely because the idea here is to cut down on content. Couldn't you give descriptions of the videos without just flat-out giving things the format of Here's What Happens in Video 1:, etc. etc.?

:BTW, Q, no one's checking this page anymore. The revamp is already in progress, and as you can see, the Dreams page needs work. It would be better to just go to it rather than saying what other people should do, you know? Thanks, though! - [[User:Shiori|Shiori]] 23:54, 11 May 2008 (CDT)

Need Help

Psichopate, thanks so much for your help :)I'm still plugging away, trying to figure out how to get Wiki to do what I want it to. I would like to change the color of the white font underneath the pictures to #000048, to match the dark blue title bar, but have not been able to figure out how to do that. I would appreciate help from you, or anyone else who knows how to do that.

Is there any way to center the yellow table over the dark blue one?

On the Dream pages: They should each be named by the full title of the dream, and the simple title, Dream 1, Dream 2, Dream 3 etc. should point to that page as well, so if people search for either the simple title or the complete title, they will be directed to the same page.

Now that I have the bare bones of the site built, VoyBoy will be providing me with text to build it out and make it more complete.

Thanks for all your help -Luminous

I changed color of white font. I'll try to center that yellow table later. (in fact, it looked white for me, before you said it's yellow. :) maybe a little too light? (or maybe it's just my monitor)) psichopate 07:39, 23 April 2007 (CDT)

Order of videos

Is the order of the videos Dream 1, Dream 2, Dream 3, etc. or something else? I noticed that the "Previous" and "Next" links on the video pages don't follow that order.--Jonpro 21:45, 27 April 2007 (CDT)

Update Videos

Whether it is labeled 'tier 2' or 'tier 3' the page for this particular series should include a concise list of links to the videos, possibly with a short description and thumbnail for each. The videos are fairly independent creations usually focusing on one character each, not so much a single narrative, so a lumped summary will not really cover them very well. "The idea here is to cut down on content." If anything, the idea should be to organize content and make it more accessible or possibly easier to maintain. But I personally think it is misguided to aim to "cut down on content" or to standardize everything. Actually, it's boring.
The way this revamp is organized is misguided in my view. A much simpler solution would have been to list all the series, and then add a single summary page (akin to the video pages on the LGPedia) for every series, no matter how big or how small, with a single master "UGC Index" listing page that points to these individual summary pages.
An indication of associated series (i.e. theCoalition) could be given in the "UGC Index." Guys, guys. Seriously, don't get so defensive. Note that this is just my opinion, and if you want it different, you can go take care of it yourselves. Personally, I just don't like the idea of video descriptions because I think a combined description of ALL the videos would probably be better (especially considering how disjointed they are). My point is I think several paragraphs of text generally looks better than:
  • Video 1 - ....
  • Video 2 - ....
As for that design that was in place, Q, yes it was destroyed, and I'm sorry if people think that that is reason to no longer contribute. The whole point of the revamp was to cut down on unnecessary pages and make the information easier to access. The whole page was just serving as pictorial links to the videos, which had already been decided on being removed. I'm sorry if that irritates you, but I didn't feel like leaving the pictures up without the links would convey much meaning other than "hey, if you want to know about the series, well... you'll have to go watch it because we don't care to give you an adequate description.
