Talk:Transcripts in Japanese

Hmmm, I like this idea if someone can translate the transcripts, but perhaps there would be a better way to name the pages. Right now, it's putting the Japanese transcript pages in Category:Lonelygirl15 videos, Category:Jessica Lee Rose filmography, etc. I'm not sure the best way to do this, but I like the idea of transcripts in other languages. I would suggest replacing Blog3 with a BlogJP, and having it create a [[:Category:LG15 videos in Japanese]]. That's probably the simplest thing to do, right? --JayHenry 21:55, 21 March 2007 (CDT)

Thanks for the advice! I'm fairly new to LGPedia so I must have been doing weird things to create this page. Can anyone tell me how the category thing works? Sounds good to me, Jay. I'll see what I can do with {{BlogJP}}. Hitomitohi, categories are just lists of pages used to organize them. For example, Category:Images of Bree contains all of the images of Bree so they can be found easily. The only part you'll have to change on the pages is the "{{Blog3" line at the top to "{{BlogJP". It won't work right away, but when I get the template up (I'm going to try to do that right now), it should start working.--Jonpro 23:04, 21 March 2007 (CDT)

All these pages

Well, I hate to delete all these pages only to have Hitomitohi come back to work on them, but they are cluttering the wanted pages list and I doubt there's anyone else here who can translate these. Also, since the language for this wiki is English, should we technically even have them in the first place? Thoughts?--Jonpro 00:18, 6 April 2007 (CDT)

I've been meaning to say something about this for awhile. I didn't understand, when you made these remarks, that your intention was to delete the pages for which he actually created transcripts. I understand deleting pages that were empty shells, but a lot of these had full translations. I don't think there was any need to delete those. Sorry, but I beg to differ. It seems from the history that only one video ("First Blog / Dorkiness Prevails in JP") had a transcript. All the others had a small phrase or word in parentheses probably indicating that the transcript had yet to be translated (I don't know Japanese). Anyway, as I referred to above, the standard for wikis is to create a different one for each language, so in reality everything here should be in English anyway.--Jonpro 18:22, 13 May 2007 (CDT)

Oh, was it only the one video? That was the video I checked and I thought he'd made transcripts for more. As for the standard about multi-language wikis, that makes sense if you're talking about thousands of duplicative articles, but hardly the case here. Actually, the fact that he only made the one transcript is better because this was my idea: I think it'd be cool to assemble translations of First Blog / Dorkiness Prevails in lots of different languages. I'd volunteer to write the Russian one. I'm sure we could get OIC to do Spanish. I was thinking it would just be a fun sort of novelty thing to have on the Wiki. --JayHenry 18:35, 13 May 2007 (CDT)

If we can get people to write them, it would be pretty cool.
