Transcript

Spencer: It's been only a week since we failed in our task of saving Bree. I spent the weekend moping around the house. I decided I needed to get back to work. I mean, what else could I do, I need to find some structure in my life and work it is. So back to Neutrogena. Guys, I understand that you're mad at Taylor but she's only 16 and she's been through so much. She did the best she could. We all did.

(Spencer puts clothes and items into a plastic bag as he talks)

Spencer: You know, I still don't know what happened. Bree was there, and she had this creepy looking guy standing over her, and she had a needle in her arm. I guess the rumors are true about the Elders. They ... they take the blood from Trait: Positive girls and use it for themselves. Maybe Bree's high ribozyme levels cure them of something? I don't know, I just don't know what they used the blood for. You know, I never met Bree, but she was kind of like that one unsolvable thing in my life. My E=mc². I realized during this journey why I chose science over other pursuits. In Science, no matter how hard a problem may seem, you know that there's an answer, a compound, a molecule, a way of lining things up that no-one else has ever thought. Life isn't like that. There aren't always answers. So Bree was that one unsolvable formula. Maybe that's why I wanted to save her so badly.

Notes

  • Spencer mentions that "It's been only a week..." extinguishing theories that more time has passed in the Breeniverse than in real time.
  • Although Spencer mentions E=mc² as an unsolvable problem, it has in fact been solved by Albert Einstein as a means of linking mass and energy in his theory of relativity.
  • This is the first time a character has described the death of Bree.
  • Spencer appears to be growing a goatee.
