Thor Knai is Jessica Lee Rose's real life friend. They met at the New York Film Academy. Thor, a native of Norway, was featured in several stories in the Norwegian press because of his association with Rose.

Bree's teddy bear Thor was named after Thor Knai at the suggestion of fans.
