Orphaned and pseudo-orphaned pages

Someone commented on a few pages that you created that it was unclear why the information is there. It really would be a good idea when you make a new page of information that you find a way to clearly relate it back to LG15. --Brucker 10:06, 28 November 2006 (CST)

I normally try to respond to such comments in the discussion section when I see them. However your point is well taken. Sometimes I just assume that because i created the page from a link on a video etc that the reason for the pages existence is intuitively obvious. However this may not be the case for someone finding he page via a radom search. I will try to be more explicit.--modelmotion 10:58, 28 November 2006 (CST)

OK, i have dealt with the orphan puppies, now how to I find the pseudos?--modelmotion 13:04, 28 November 2006 (CST)

Ah, it was just a term I made up. What I meant was that to a great extent, every page on the LGPedia should have relevance, and if it is not immediately clear what it is, then it should be explained. An "orphan" is technically a page with no links to it, but I think of more concern are the "dead end" pages, which have no links out to the rest of the 'Pedia. --Brucker 13:09, 28 November 2006 (CST)

Thanks. I think I have now dealt with all the orphans I created. When a create a major page I normally try to define what its created for. I guess I got sloppy with the minor one and forgot to check for orphans. Well if you happen to see any specific pages I have missed let me know. Sometimes I will just create a page because I know its one I am going to need to refer to elsewhere and it takes time to grow these pages and I dont think everyone realizes that this is a process and pages are not always a final act.--modelmotion 13:15, 28 November 2006 (CST)

There was no information on the holy grail page that connected it to lonelygirl15. So there was no way I could know that you think it is somehow relevant.--JayHenry 13:55, 28 November 2006 (CST)
Modelmotion, I'm only deleting pages that have no content. When somebody is ready to add content, the pages are not protected, and can be recreated with LG-related content. We should have content, then create pages -- not vice-versa.--JayHenry 13:59, 28 November 2006 (CST)
We should not create pages without content. I'm not deleting any information, I'm just cleaning up the organization of the LGpedia. Small items, for example, should be part of other articles. I'm just moving and cleaning -- not erasing information.--JayHenry 14:16, 28 November 2006 (CST)

The probem is that once you delete a page I cannot see what was there and I know there is always something there. Some of the pages I have redireted but a couple of them I am going to have to reasearch from scratch again. This is an LGpedia not wikipedial. Could we please be a little more gentle?--modelmotion 14:19, 28 November 2006 (CST)

The only pages I've deleted had no content beyond a link to Wikipedia. I'm just trying to improve the quality of the LGpedia. We know that many of the pages are now irrelevant, since the story has developed and most speculation about Bree's religion has been put to rest.--JayHenry 14:29, 28 November 2006 (CST)

Chat problems
