Okay, I'm apparently coming in late to this discussion to some extent, but I think it could stand my $.02. In general, I have said in the past that I don't care what people put on their user pages, so long as it's not pornographic or illegal. I still feel that way, although I will give a caveat to that; harrassing other users on one's own user page may or may not be illegal, but it's definitely not kindly or smart. That being said, despite my liking LG422 and understanding that he might be slightly offended by what was in the deleted userboxes, I don't see them as harassment. There were three boxes in question; let me review them in reverse order of how they appeared. '''(1)''' The box about not being able to sit through the keynote address was, I thought, fairly clever, and I even considered making it into an official userbox. Coming from another source, it would have been considered good-natured ribbing because after all, it's well-known that the video is ''very long''. Being fed on a diet of three-to-five-minute videos through lg15, who's got that sort of attention span? '''(2)''' The box about the dangers of guns seems to me to be the user expressing a perfectly  valid political opinion. What more is there to be said? '''(3)''' The "knob of cheese" comment could certainly be taken badly, but I would like to point out that the box did not, in fact, call LG422 a "knob of cheese" (it insinuated that LG422 might have been called one in the past), if it had called  him a "knob of cheese" I don't think that's call for disciplinary action of any sort, and frankly I don't understand what's so darned offensive about a "knob of cheese". Can the other admins clue me in on what is going on here so I can understand what's going on in the big picture that makes this an issue worth clamping down on the users? --[[User:Brucker|Brucker]] 15:22, 20 February 2007 (CST)

Hi Sheriff,

And welcome to the LGPedia. LordGreystoke422 has expressed some concern that a lot of your edits and some of the boxes on your userpage are often pretty harassing. I tend to agree with him about this. If you and LordGreystoke422 have conflict you need to take it somewhere other than the LGPedia. I'd like to encourage you to refrain from harassing LG422. Perhaps it would help to make edits to topics that are unrelated to LG422 for a little while. I'd like for both you and Greystoke to be productive contributors to the LGPedia. But it seems that some time to cool off could be nice for everyone involved.

Thanks.--JayHenry 01:48, 12 February 2007 (CST)

Ok, you are being asked agian to remove the harrassing Userboxes.--TJ Marsh 16:15, 17 February 2007 (CST)

asked again??? Harrassing? please explain. You can do it if you feel that stronly. I was told by an admin' that userpages were allowed to be "just a bit of fun". SheriffOfNottingham. 16:19, 18 feb.
Harassing? For example: calling LordGreystoke a "knob of cheese." And I think you know that the content of your user page contains several such references to LordGreystoke. Although you may have meant it as a joke, he considers it harassment. --JayHenry 12:06, 18 February 2007 (CST)

i havent said anything negative about him, only positive, check my contributions!!! I am even listed in a catergory as an LG422 fan. if they offend you then take them off, but I aint doing it. must go I have valuable contributions to be getting on with. SheriffOfNottingham

So says the user who made a single, two-letter edit after leaving the above message. They do offend the user that you claim to be a fan of, and since you're a fan I'm sure you wouldn't want that. I'll take them down for you since you're not sure which ones are the offending ones. OwenIsCool 16:17, 18 February 2007 (CST)
