Transcript

Spencer: Hey, I would normally never do this at work, but I have all these thoughts running through my head and I just saw my boss go on his lunch break. I mean, what's happened in the past week alone! Daniel and Sarah dropped a letter from my dad into some beach water, smearing a part of that letter which reveals a formula to save Bree. I met Jonas, Taylor, Sarah, and Daniel at my office, on my way to lunch. Nice surprise guys, almost got fired. Just kidding. Then, I get involved in this whole thing by trying to figure out this letter with Taylor, my new protégé, little sister, overall pal of mine. We bonded over cheese and crackers. Just like old times... Anyway, I then tell her that just because Bree is Trait: Negative, that has nothing to do with the purity bond. That's just some Hymn of One B.S. used to control the minds of these young girls. Then we ask the fans to help us decipher the letter and, (claps hands) ta-da! We discover that we need to create a serum using the blood from one of these girls. Daniel goes off on his Woodward Deep Throat meeting, and we discover that Bree is under lock-and-key because there is going to be a Hymn of One Ceremony in one month! One month... one month! You know what that means, don't you? It means that we have a mission, and we choose to accept it!

(The words "Mission Accepted" appear on screen, which are covered by the words "Top Secret" in red.)

Spencer: Our mission is top secret, so all I can reveal to you is that we have a mole from the inside. Which means we know where to get these blood samples to save Bree. God, I can't believe I'm doing this. I feel like... I feel like Edward Bond in Dark World, you know? I've just penetrated an alternate world, a semi-factual world very similar to my own. I wonder if I'll meet a doppelgänger Spencer. Holy sh...

(Musical montage in which Spencer plays with a lightsaber.)

Spencer: (To a person off camera.) I'm just recording some notes for my uh, project. (Nods)

(Musical montage in which Spencer performs random karate moves and plays with a toy dinosaur.)

Notes

  • While some users claim the lightsaber might have been an expensive replica, the lack of emitted light from the blade, the fact that the blade seems to have no weight and the way how Spencer carelessly wields it around without ever touching anything (especially while putting on his glasses), suggest that the lightsaber in fact marks the first use of visible high-level special effects in the series. See also on the talk page.
  • This is the second time Spencer has joked about being fired, the first being in What Up Blogosphere!
  • Spencer's referral to Taylor as his "little sister" seems to negate any implications that he had felt romantic feelings for her.
  • Spencer's "Woodward-Deep Throat" comment is a reference to Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward, who met with the real Deep Throat, breaking the Watergate scandal. Woodward was played by Robert Redford in the Oscar-winning 1976 film, All The President's Men, which is listed as one of Nikki Bower's favorite films on her profile pages.
  • Spencer's reference to the inside informant (or "mole") is a reference to the Mysterious Reporter, who is suspected as being the one coding the Hymn of One's video entries with secret messages.
  • When Spencer says to a person off-camera that he is just recording some notes for his project, he is likely talking to Terry, an annoying co-worker.
  • Mission Accepted is likely a reference to the TV Show/Movie "Mission: Impossible"
  • This is the second time Spencer identifies with a character from a novel by Henry Kuttner.
  • A doppelgänger is a German word meaning a person's double; it is often associated with "evil"
  • Spencer's "just like old times..." remark may possibly be a foreshadowing of revelations from his past yet to be discussed.
