Yousef Abu-Taleb is the actor who plays Daniel in the Lonelygirl15 viral video series. He has also done some of the camera work and writing for the series. He was born in Arlington, Virginia (USA) and lived in Jordan until he was eight. Yousef's father is Jordanian and lives in Herndon, Va. His mother is British and lives in Harrisonburg, Va. Yousef, 26, took classes at Blue Ridge Community College before deciding to move to Los Angeles in early 2005. Yousef has two brothers and four sisters.

He worked as a waiter and bartender while looking for roles as an actor. He worked with acting coach Robert Miano and producer James Quattrochi. He had a small part in the film Dorm Daze 2; the scene was cut, but can be seen in the Deleted Scenes section of the DVD. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Before lonelygirl15 he appeared in an independent film "Stray" in which his character was beaten to death.
