Okay, I have a little theory here. Keep in mind, I am new, foreign, and this is my very first post, so bear with me here.

I've been reading through the posts here, and quite a lot of people are mentioning that Bree and Jonas might be siblings.
Here's what I'm thinking:

Remember when Daniel and Jonas were following Bree and her 'dad'?
Jonas kept asking Daniel if he were sure that was her dad, as if he could not believe it.
What if Jonas recognized Bree's 'dad', and that is why he reacted with disbelief.
What if Bree's 'dad' is in fact Jonas' father?

I don't think that the recognition (if that's what Jonas was expressing by asking about her dad in that vid) has to do with Bree's dad being his dad.

Jonas's parents disappeared 6 years ago. Bree's lived a sheltered life with her parents homeschooling her and keeping her on a pretty short leash, it would seem. Additionally, her family's been moving all around the world in the course of her short life.

I just can't imagine that Bree's dad found time in the middle of all of that to raise another kid elsewhere, who seems to have been living in California for some time. Also, if all those trophies in Jonas's house are his dad's, then his dad was pretty kicked-back into life wherever they were living.

I think that whatever Jonas saw when he saw Bree's father, it wasn't his own father.

I do, however, think he might have recognized Bree's dad, or was not expecting to see the man he saw. (See previous posts below.)

So, everyone is shooting down the thought of Bree and Jonas having the same dad. Did anyone think of them having the same mom?

Maybe the pictures are of his dad and his unnatural mom. His dad had a relationship with "mom" and she wanted to take the baby off to some freaky religion and dad refused. Dad took the baby and found someone else who became Jonas' mom.

Just something that popped into my head.

I too had the thought that Bree and Jonas could be siblings and that their relationship seems more brotherly/sisterly than love interest. It is possible that the couple who disappeared sailing are Bree's real parents. I also think Jonas has more of a connection to Bree than we know. I think he knows more than he has let on. The Loveline reference, the Back to the Future reference, the little hints he drops here and there.

I also think the connection between all the disappearances will shortly be explained. Soon we will find a connection between all the people who disappeared (Tach's family, Jonas's parents, Bree's real parents, Bree's 'adoptive' parents) and why they vanished.

It's time now for pieces of the puzzle to start coming together. We need at least some answers to keep us interested.

Kudos to all the posters who suspected all along that Brees parents were not her real parents.

Okay... Thinking back to the baby-stealing discussions in the beginning of this thread... And I don't feel like this is what happened, but it could be conceivable that Jonas's parents were Bree's biological parents, and that she was taken from them for the sake of being reared for the sake of the ceremony, being raised by the parents she knew as her own.

In that scenario, it could be possible that Jonas's parents were gotten rid of. Bree's what, 16? 17? Jonas's age is listed as 19. His parents would have disappeared when he was around 13 (if I'm remembering the interval since their disappearance correctly).

Sooo... The age difference works for siblings. And he might have even been old enough to have a memory of the guy who took his sister, if he ever saw him--or if the family knew him.

However--why would his parents have been left alive for another 10 years? That leaves a massive gap (at least by my thinking) in this theory.

I don't think that this is what happened, personally. It just seems like the most plausible way that they could be siblings, and it still seems pretty implausible when you add into how Jonas and Bree found each other. I'm keeping my money on theories about Jonas's unique access to information, rather than the family ties stuff. I think he's connected to something else.

during that 10 year gap it oculd be possible that they just couldn't find bree...then they did which is why they were killed.
