at first I wanted to agree with you, ESPECIALLY considerring they came up with nada on their search.
You are right, a prominent street sign is missing.
However, I STILL think they went to the right place. why?
if you look closely at the picture in cassie's video, you'll notice the brown Angeles Forest Sign is a little aged.
In particular, you'll notice two cracks/scratches on the sign. The first starts at the top of the sign, goes straight down, and ends directly to the left of the "N" in "National." the second is a shorter scratch that starts at the top of the sign, goes straight down, and ends above the "N" in "ANGELES."
In the picture that NillaWafers took, those scratches are exactly where they should be. That is TOO much of a coincidence.
The Park Rangers must have moved that sign for whatever reason since the time of Cassie's filming. |

It has recently been used for filming while it's been closed due to a forest fire 2 years ago...Only the area that was harmed by the fire is closed...apparently there is a path to an area that wasn't. At least according to all the video evidence available. Including Bree's.

Watch your video and stop it at 4:17 4:22 & 4:24. Those are definitely drawings.
By the way, great try at finding it, but a river has tons of places that look very similar up and down it. So, unless you have exact lat/long coordinates it is really difficult to find a specific location just from visual clues. |

I've just been looking closer at Cassie's youtube. I know we can find it, I have a better idea of where it is now, I'm pretty sure it's not in the area I was looking....but since I saw this, I have an idea (since I've been there, makes it easier) http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5668/helpmehelpmelz6.jpg
Helps a lot, I can't believe I missed that. I'm going to be a lot more prepared tomorrow (bringing a GPS thingy, maybe my genius/eagle scout brother).

Yes! I was actually going to mention the white gate, because all the others are yellow. So, that may help in locating it. I think each clip in the video is a landmark to help find the exact location.
