I didn't find the inclusion of the gum to be intrusive or cheesy, at all. Considering it was an in-story advertisment, I thought it was fine, and I wasn't bothered by it at all. _________________ I hope you realize that I suck.::The finest satire is that in which ridicule is combined with so little malice and so much conviction that it even rouses laughter in those who are hit.-Georg Christoph Lichtenberg |

Not bad. I'm glad it was done in this, a lighter video, where it seemed a bit more realistic. |

Well, especially since they asked our opinion well beforehand, I don't think any of us has anything too much to complain about. The numbers were really very telling!
Out of 176 voters, it seems as if only 3 people would absolutely quit watching. The totals were:
Go for it! I like candy.
47% ( 84 )
I can live with it. The show must go on, and gas is expensive.
43% ( 77 )
I'm pretty disappointed, but I'll keep watching. Don't you guys have a rich uncle?
2% ( 4 )
I really, really, really hate it... but I'll keep watching.
4% ( 8 )
Not over my dead body. I mean it.
1% ( 3 ) _________________ Diane, or cher, or even chershaytoute, but "Hey, you!" works, too...

There was one kind of obnoxious cut at the candy that wasn't needed, it was less then a second long... so no biggie i guess. _________________ <DTayl> actually i'm the bad sister

I thought the product placement was fine. Natural. And liked how they incorporated brees silly personality into it with her shoving them into her mouth and giggling.
ANd it kinda made me want some sour gum. _________________ www.youtube.com/cuddlebunnies

I actually had to go and check to make sure that this was the product placement. However, I think that's just because I'm obtuse. |

I think they did an excellent job with the product placement. It didn't feel in any way like a commercial, and I for one was not annoyed by it at all. It was pretty realistic. If it had been like a commercial, then I would gripe, I hate commercials. _________________ Daniel gets stage fright

I think it turned out just fine. I almost got a goofy vibe on it like the product placement sketch on Wayne's World. _________________

Thanks, cher (do you mind if I call you cher?) -- it's sweet of you to say so. But I wasn't joking -- I seriously thought, "Is this the product placement?" Even though I knew a candy placement was coming.
Then again, neither my ears nor my computer's speakers work very well, so I missed the name of the candy the first time around.
I will confess to being one of the three folks who responded "Over my dead body" in the original poll, so I thought I should mention how I reacted to the actual placement. |
