He did answer that question, I believe.

He didn't give a yes or no answer, but the implication was very clear that it was non-canon.

I don't remember his exact words or where he posted them, though.

Thanks for posting that giddeanx I'm awful at finding things in the Maddy archive. So it sounds like it's definitely not canon - even though he didn't come right out and say it.
